As a part of the election campaign, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) National President, JP Nadda, has presented the report card of the BJP-led government in Manipur and said the state has undergone a change from insurgency to peace, divisive politics to united Manipur.
While speaking to the media during the release of BJP’s election manifesto for the ensuing Manipur legislative assembly election 2022, the National President said, “None of the political parties ever dare to show the report card. It is only BJP. We believed in what we say and what is our commitment.”
“Manipur has seen a sea change as far as development is concerned, and we should also remember that Manipur has undergone a change from instability to stability, insurgency to peace, divisive politics to united Manipur. We have seen fake encounters, and now there is the rule of law. We have seen a drug menace, and now we have seen the state is committed to zero tolerance for drugs. There was a stage when Manipur was considered as a synonym of commission and corruption. Today, it is good governance that is ruling the state of Manipur. Manipur state was known for blockades and bandhs, now it is known for development, peace, prosperity, coming forward and sports,” said the president.
He added, “This manifesto is not a piece of paper. It was done with diligence and consultation.” Nadda said BJP consulted different people, discussed with all the communities of Manipur and received 1.2 lakh aspirations were from 60 assembly constituencies of Manipur. He also said the manifesto is the commitment of BJP in the next five years to do in Manipur.
JP Nadda, who landed in Imphal on Thursday, has also reached out to beneficiaries of Central and State government welfare schemes and farmers of various locations. He also interacted with Bazar communities in Imphal.
