The northern part of the state of Bihar is now emerging as a new epicentre of conversion being carried out by the Christian Mission. In recent times, conversion is being encouraged by spreading fallacy among the poor and the backward people in remote areas. The Christian mission wants to establish this area as a new bastion of conversion. Recently, news of uneducated, backward people conversion by Christian mission is coming from different places of North Bihar. Foreign funding and resources are being used behind such large-scale conversions. In case of any dispute with the local people, help is sought from the self-proclaimed human rights associates of the mission-based in Delhi. The news of conversions from Gaya, Jehanabad, Banka and Saran districts in recent days is not only shocking, but it is also surprising how the misdeed of conversion was carried out on such a large scale secretly. It is feared that over 10,000 people have been converted to Christianity in the Corona period alone.
Most of these people who are victims of conversion are economically and socially backwards. These people are first cunningly tricked into attending the prayers meeting by Christian missionaries, and then by spreading fallacy about Hinduism in a phased manner, they are encouraged to convert to Christianity. This intrigue of conversion from different areas of North Bihar is disseminating briskly now. The worst affected are Gaya and Saran districts. In fact, a large population of economically and socially backward people resides in these districts. Christian missionaries are very secretly engaged in promoting conversions in these areas. Recently, about 700 people have been converted in Sumaha village of Ishwapur block of Saran district, most of them belong to the Kushwaha community.
According to the inputs received from the villagers in the neighbouring Bangra village of Sumaha, Christian missionaries keep visiting every week. Villagers said that Christian missionaries organised a banquet every Sunday at Dharmendra Singh's place in Bangra. After the banquet, Dharmendra Singh and some missionaries encourage the attendees to convert. People from economically and socially backward classes keep going there for a good feast, wine, and then financial help. Sanjeev Kushwaha of this village is being described as the main kingpin of such large-scale conversions. In fact, it was Sanjeev who introduced Dharmendra to the priests of Delhi, after which Dharmendra Singh is helping these pastors in every possible way for conversion. According to the villagers, Dharmendra Singh has also been provided with a huge amount by these Christian missionaries in the last few years. All this matter came to light when many people in Sumaha village converted to Christianity.
These people have been misled in such a way that they tried to break the idols of the deities, who have been a part of their culture for years. With their feet, they even tried to trample the idols of their deities. When the villagers stopped them and investigated the shameful act, it came to know that Surya Devi of the village has been inspiring widows and women from economically backward families to convert. When some people of the village tried to inquire this to Surya, she misbehaved with them and lodged an FIR against the villagers at Ishwapur police station.
Surprisingly, on the complaint of a woman residing in such a backward area, Meenakshi Singh, who introduces herself as a member of the All India Council of Human Rights and Social Justice, directed the Ishwapur police station in-charge Vijay Kumar from Delhi on the phone to take strict action on Devi's complaint. She also told SHO Vijay Kumar in a threatening tone that she knows the SP of her area very well.
It is shocking that despite the lack of media coverage of this incident, the so-called human rights champion Meenakshi Singh not only called the station in charge of Ishwarpur for a woman living in a small village in a backward area of Ishwarpur block but also ensured that her legal rights could be protected. Meenakshi Singh's intervention in this way, despite being well aware that Surya Devi is promoting illegal conversions, only confirms that Christian missionaries not only have money and resources. Rather, a mechanism is also active to hide their dark exploits under the guise of human rights when needed.
In the recent few years, there has been a significant rise in the cases of Christian missionary-backed conversions in Bihar. Just last month, about 100 scheduled caste people belonging to the Majhi community from Belwadih village in Gaya district have converted to Christianity under the guise of missionaries. Apart from this, news of conversion also keeps coming from Banka district located in the southeast of Bihar.
It has also come to the fore that exorcism and superstition have also been used to convert these Dalits in Belwadi. Apart from this, the missionaries have also been accused of grinding allopathic medicines for minor ailments and distributing them as offerings of the Lord Jesus Christ.
In fact, even though the missionaries and the members of their cabals sitting in Delhi are calling such large-scale conversions a voluntary one. But the reality is that Christian missionaries are adopting all legal and illegal methods to convert these uneducated people living in remote backward areas. The state government should identify such people and take strict action against them so that the people of these backward classes can be saved from being caught in the clutches of this conversion done under the intrigue.
