In a major crackdown Monday evening, the Anti Terror Squad of the UP Police busted a Rohingya racket in Uttar Pradesh’s Ghaziabad.
The mastermind of the racket, Noor Alam and his aide Amir Hussain were arrested.
Both, Alam and Hussain, are from Myanmar and were living in the Nayapara refugee camp in Bangladesh. Alam came to India a few years back and settled in Meerut.
Police had arrested another Rohingya, Ajijullah, in January this year. Ajijullah had disclosed to police about the existence of this racket run by Alam.
They were getting Rohingyas from Myanmar and Bangladesh and helping them in obtaining documents like PAN card, Aadhaar, ration cards and SIM cards.
The police have also recovered Aadhaar card, PAN card, SIM cards and cash from the two Rohingyas.
The major worry for the security forces and the intelligence agencies is these Rohingyas have arranged many documents illegally to get a new identity.
