The Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh has decided to turn its schools into isolation centres for the Covid-19 patients.
Some such isolation centres are already operational in Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh.
There are about 15000 schools in the country run by the RSS. It was felt that these centres could be used to supplement the highly stressed medical infrastructure in the country.
Because of the sudden spike in Covid-19 patients in the country, there is a huge shortage of hospital beds.
These centres will work in coordination with the respective state governments.
The organisation has also decided to make the services free of cost for the patients.
Under the same initiative of Sewa, Bhaurao Devaras hostel in Gorakhpur in Uttar Pradesh has been turned into an isolation centre for the patients.
It’ll house 50 patients who will be provided food, medicine etc free of cost.
The centres will also conduct Yoga and other physical activities for the good health and recovery of the patients.
