BJP Restricts All Its Rallies and Public Meetings in West Bengal Amid Rising Covid Cases

The Bharatiya Janata Party Monday cancelled all its rallies and public meetings in West Bengal in light of the rising Covid-19 cases.

Now focus will be on digital campaigning and door to door campaigning.

The public meetings of senior BJP leaders, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah, party president J P Nadda, will be restricted to maximum of 500 people.

The party has also decided to distribute face masks and sanitisers on a large scale in the state to check the spread of the virus.

The West Bengal assembly polls are spread over eight phases. Five phases are already over. The counting of votes will start on May 2.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi had extensive marathon meetings Monday with pharma executives, doctors, health professionals and officials.
