Senior Saints at the Sant Mahasammelan at Talkatora Stadium in New Delhi
Senior saints attending the Sant Mahasammelan in Delhi from November 3 to 4 direct the Hindus to lit a lamp for Sri Ram Janmabhoomi Temple also on this Diwali. They also announce Mega conventions in Ayodhya, Nagpur, Bengaluru and Delhi to further press upon the various issues including reconstruction of Sri Ram Temple in Ayodhya through the enactment of a law in Parliament, implementing NRC all over the country, etc
New Delhi: The leading saints of the country assembled at the Sant Mahasammelan held at Talkatora Stadium from November 3 to 4, told the Hindus to light a lamp on this Diwali for Sri Ram Janmabhoomi Temple also. They urged the central government to enact a law in Parliament or promulgate an ordinance for removing hurdles in the reconstruction of Sri Ram Temple in Ayodhya as the earliest. In a Dharmadesh (commandment) issued for both the government and the countrymen, the saints directed the people to actively join the activities announced by them and be careful of the people, politicians and alien forces which are trying to derail the Temple movement. They also told the people not to indulge in any activity, which disturbs the unity of the Hindu society.
To press upon the various issues raised by the saints during the Sammelan the saints declared to organise mega public rallies in Ayodhya, Nagpur and Bengaluru on November 25 and New Delhi on December 9. After these mega-conventions, the big meeting will be organised in more than 500 districts of the country. The saints also directed the Hindus to conduct religious activities as per their way of worships from Geeta Jayanti (December 18) to one week.
Senior saints from J&K, Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, Haryana, Delhi, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Bihar, Jharkhand, Gujarat, Maharashtra, Bengal, Kerala, Ayodhya, Prayagraj, Varanasi, Vrindavan, Haridwar, Rishikesh, Meerut, etc. participated in the Sammelan at the jam packed Talkatora Stadium. Prominent saints who were present included Shankaracharyaa Swami Vasudevanandji Maharaj, Yugpurush Parmanandji Maharaj, Swami Chinmayanand Saraswati, Jagadguru Ramanandacharya Swami Hansdevacharyaji Maharaj, Acharya Mahamandaleshwar Balkanandji, Mahamandaleshwar Swami Vivekanandaji, senior Arya Samaj saint Swami Vivekanandaji from Meerut, national president of Sant Samiti Swami Avichaldas ji Maharaj from Gujarat, Sri Sri Ravi Shankar, the Mahants and secretaries of all the 13 Akharas. Swami Rameshwardasji from Ujjain, Radhe Rradhe Baba from Indore, Mahamandaleshwar Swami Anubhutanandji from Delhi, Mahamandaleshwar Mahant Naval Kishore Das ji Maharaj from Delhi, Mahant Surendranath Avadhoot from Kalkapeeth, Sant Samiti general secretary Swami Jitendranand ji from Varanasi, Swami Balakdasji Maharaj from Patalpuri, Kashi, Swami Govindev Giriji Mahraj from Pune, etc.
While warning the Government to pave the way for reconstruction of Shri Ram Temple in Ayodhya by enacting a law or issuing an ordinance, the Saints made it clear that they might be feeling hurt over the delay in reconstruction of Sri Temple in Ayodhya, they are satisfied with the Union Government on its work done for the nation, dharma, culture, national security and the national pride. They said in the Dharmadesh that they have a lot of expectations from this government and they believe that all their issues would be addressed by this government only.
Speaking at the Sant Sammelan, the Art of Living founder Sri Sri Ravi Shankar suggested three options for construction of the temple in Ayodhya—consensus, Supreme Court order or the government doing something on the issue. Later talking to media, he said it the wish of the country—lakhs of people want something that’s why we need to find a way.
On November 3, VHP working president Shri Alok Kumar while highlighting the legal aspects of Sri Ram Temple issue urged the Centre to table a law on the floor of the House for construction of the temple. He said: “We have requested the central government to make a law and construct Sri Ram Mandir as soon as possible. The Supreme Court will not be overruled. But it is in the hands of the Parliament to bring an ordinance. So, it is advisable to pass an ordinance.”
Meanwhile, senior saint Swami Satyamitranand Giri Maharaj announced on November 5 to sit on an indefinite hunger strike at Har-ki-Pauri in Haridwar from December 6 demanding reconstruction of the temple in Ayodhya. He said he is ready to sacrifice his life for the reconstruction of the temple. I will fast till January 1 for Ram Temple. If the Temple is not constructed even after that, I will sacrifice my life. I have asked the saints from across the country to join the fast,” he told the media persons in Haridwar.
During the Sant Mahasammelan, the saints also stressed on ensuring high tech fencing on the entire international border with Bangladesh and introduce National Register of Citizens (NRC) in all the states to detect and deport the infiltrators with immediate effect. They said the basis of NRC at the national level should be 1947 and the Rohingya Muslims who entered in the country illegally should also be detected and deported immediately.
For the protection and preservation of the Ganga, the saints appealed to the countrymen not to indulge in any activity which pollutes the Ganga. About the temples, they demanded immediate quashing of the temple acquisitions and creating Pilgrimage Ministry. The saints also commanded the countrymen to cast their vote positively during the polls and particularly elect the people who support the protection of the cow, Ganga, Geeta, Gayatri and Govind. They described NOTA in elections as an insult of the democracy.
