It is to be noted that the July 2016 meeting of the Mahila Samanvya had decided to conduct a nationwide study on the status of women in the country. The survey report is being prepared by Drishti Stree Adhyayan Prabodhan Kendra, Pune. Data for the study were collected from 65,000 women in 29 states and five UTs. Addressing the workers, Sushri Pramilatai Medhe said when women realise their strength many evil forces are controlled automatically. She expressed satisfaction over the countrywide study conducted by the workers. Dr Manisha Thakkar informed that the opinion of women in various sectors including urban, rural, tribal, slums, different castes, women living in special circumstances, women prisoners, border areas, farmers, spiritual field, scientists etc has been recorded during the study.

Shri Bhaiyaji Joshi described the study as holistic and historical. He said the scientific studies help the workers to understand the ground realities and then plan accordingly. He said the findings of the study would help evolve some new schemes for betterment of the women. He stressed the need to provide the findings of the study to the policy makers also. At the concluding ceremony Sushri Gitatai congratulated the workers associated with the study.
