Tiruppur: Two-day State general body meeting of Hindu Munnani was held from September 24-25. State president Kadeshwara C Subramaniam presided over the meeting. Shri Karvendhan, Member of the Parliament, inaugurated the session by lighting the lamp. The meeting passed 11 resolutions strongly condemning the protest siege demo by anti-social elements at the RSS State headquarters in Chennai. The meeting resolved not to take any compensation from State Government for the families who were either killed or injured in the attacks. Condemning the appeasement politics it demanded installation of jammers in prisons. It also demanded probe into the repeated lover murders in the State.
Remembering Vakil Saheb on his birth centenary
Bhubaneswar: Odisha unit of Sahkar Bharati observed birth centenary of the late Laxmanrao Inamdar, the motivational force behind the formation of Sahkar Bharati in 1978, on September 21. Prant Sanghachalak Shri Samir Mohanty inaugurated the function. State vice president Rabinarayan Mohanty presided over. Kshetra organising secretary Shri Krushna Ballav Sahu spoke about the life of Inamdarji as student, practicing lawyer, swayamsevak, pracharak, Prant Pracharak and Akhil Bharatiya Vyavastha Pramukh. He said Vakil Saheb, as Inamdarji was affectionately called, visualised an ethical cooperative movement for rapid, sustainable and equitable growth of the country. Shri Samir Mohanty suggested the gathering to follow the footprint of Vakil Saheb in their social life.
Flood relief operations by swayamsevaks
Hyderabad: Continuous heavy rains for some time brought the entire city of Hyderabad to standstill. In this hour of crisis, the RSS swayamsevaks extended their help in rescue and relief operations at various locations of the city. Alwal was one of the worst affected area. A lake in the area got overflowed resulting in water logging above the knee level at ten adjacent colonies and hampering the traffic movement on the main road. About 40 swayamsevaks from Alwal and Secunderabad Bhag participated in the relief operation. They distributed over 2,000 food and water packets. Some of them participated in controlling the traffic on Alwal main road from morning. In Nizampet Village, houses and parking areas in apartments were completely under rain water due to overflowing of nearby lake. Sensing this dangerous inflow of rain water into the lake, 150 swayamsevaks put 3,000 sand sacks to prevent sudden outflow of water or any leakages that may weaken the banks of lake. They worked round the clock along with local youth and administration to ensure that the overflowing lake was cordoned off and colonies are protected from heavy water logging.

‘All round development of Janjatis is our goal’
Pindwara: “Vanvasi Kalyan Ashram will continue to work for all round development of the Vanvasis. Our goal is holistic development of the Janjatis. That has to be kept in mind,” said national president of Vanvasi Kalyan Ashram Shri Jagdevram Oraon while addressing the workers at national executive meeting held at Pindwara, Rajasthan, on September 23. Workers from all over the country participated in the meeting, which adopted four resolutions. The meeting demanded constitution of a national commission to investigate into the damages caused by conversion in the country so far and effective curbs on further
conversions. The meeting urged the government to implement effectively all the programmes and schemes launched for the welfare of Vanvasis. It was said that there are adequate schemes but their implementation is disappointing. The meeting also stressed the need to formulate a national policy for holistic development of Vanvasis. A total of 470 male and 80 female workers participated in the meeting.
Apna Sansthan plants 3 lakh saplings in 7,209 villages
Jaipur: RSS Rajasthan Kshetra Sanghachalak Dr Bhagwati Prakash Sharma stressed the need to work in a planned way for environment protection. Talking to mediamen on September 24 under the banner of Apna Sansthan, he said earlier the fruit bearing trees were available in plenty in every season helping the birds get food easily. But now the number of such trees has decreased and the birds have to travel miles in search of food. Sometimes they die in want to food. Therefore, it is time we all should work for environment protection by formulating specific plans.
Dr Sharma stressed the need to plant fruit bearing trees in large quantity so that the birds can get food around the year. He said about 75 crore tonne coal is used in power generation which is damaging the environment. There is apprehension that the glaciers will vanish by the year 2035. The glaciers are melting in other countries also and the water level of the sea is increasing, which is a matter of worry. He said the Apna Sansthan has taken up large scale tree plantation to restore ecological balance. State secretary of the Sansthan Shri Vinod Mailana said the Sansthan has planted 3,4,140 saplings in 7,209 villages.
Surya Foundation to plant 25 lakh saplings
Surya Foundation, on completion of its 25 years, has decided to plant 25 lakh saplings in 1,500 villages of 11 states. About 11,000 youth have joined the campaign. RSS Sah Sarkaryavah Dr Krishna Gopal motivated the workers to plant the saplings describing it the most pious task. According to chairman of Surya Foundation Shri Jaiprakash Agrawal, the workers of Sanskar Kendras run by the Foundation under Ideal Village Scheme, youth of the youth clubs and villagers in large number are joining the campaign with full vigour. He said the saplings are being planted at the banks of the canals, ponds, Panchayat Bhavans, public places and empty land in the villages.
