Condolence meeting in Nagpur

“THE late Sudarshanji was a perfect confluence of knowledge, devotion and duty. He guided and led not only we swayamsevaks but also the entire society by example,” said RSS Sarsanghachalak Shri Mohan Bhagwat while paying tribute to his predecessor KS Sudarshan, who passed away on September 15 at Raipur, Chhattisgarh.
The other dignitaries who also shared their feelings on the occasion included former Pramukh Sanchalika of Rashtra Sevika Samiti Pramilatai Medhe, Swamini Brahmaprakashananda of Arsh Vidya Gurukulam, Nagpur Mayor Anil Sole, Deputy Mayor Sandip Jadhav, senior BJP leader and former MP Banwarilal Purohit, MLA Devendra Fadanvis, Sardar Kulwant Singh Tuli of Rashtriya Sikh Sangat, former Director of NEERI Dr Tapan Chakraborty, and Nagpur Mahanagar Sanghachalak Dr Dilip Gupta. The Maharshi Vyas Sabhagriha, where the meeting was held, was jampacked to its full capacity and additional sitting arrangement was made in the basement hall with a large screen to display the proceedings of the meeting. Hundreds of social and other organisations also paid tribute to the departed leader.
Condolence messages from Dr Pranav Pandya of Gayatri Parivar and Dev Sanskriti Vishwavidyalaya, Haridwar, Jain Muni Vijay Ratnasundar Surishwar Maharaj of Sakal Jain Samaj, Yoga Guru Baba Ramdev, Swami Dayanand Saraswati and Bhadant Sadanand Mahasthvir Sanghnushasak were read out on the occasion.
Shri Bhagwat said the sudden and unexpected demise of Sudarshanji came as a bolt from the blue to all. We could not imagine that he was not with us. Stating that his death was a personal loss to him, the RSS chief confessed that he used to approach Sudarshanji whenever he wanted some clarification or guidance. He said he took the reins of this biggest organisation from Sudarshanji and he was assured that he would get the necessary guidance in times of crises. Now his demise has created a big void in my life, Shri Bhagwat said.
Tracing back his first contact with the departed leader in 1971, when Sudarshanji was Sharirik Pramukh of RSS, Shri Bhagwat narrated how he was impressed by his personality, knowledge and style of working. Sudarshanji was a voracious reader and mastered many a subjects. He used to conduct deep study and research, which was evident from his knowledge and expertise on Assam and Punjab problems. He used to go to the roots of any problem and suggest solutions to them. He earned his knowledge with hard work and study, Shri Bhagwat said.
Recalling his way of teaching Shri Bhagwat said Sudarshanji used to teach us sharirik for hours together during the training camps. He developed the habit to take maximum work done from the body.
Sudarshanji had a knack to develop lasting relations with swayamsevaks like an elderly person of a family. His demise has been a loss to many such families, he said. But the RSS chief further added that Sangh work would not suffer because ‘it is divine and not dependent on any individual; it is a collective work’. We should strive hard to spread the message and work of the Sangh to pay true homage to our beloved leader, he exhorted the swayamsevaks.
Highlighting that Sudarshanji was a man of extraordinary talent and scientific vision, Pramilatai Medhe, former Pramukh Sanchalika of Rashtra Sevika Samiti, said that he had special consideration for Samiti activities. He used to play with the little girls from the Northeastern states staying at Devi Ahilya Mandir Chhatravas, whenever he visited us. He always wanted the Samiti to play a major role in spreading and preserving the Indian values and ethos through the families.
Mayor Anil Sole said that in his demise the nation has lost a modern rishi and thinker. Sudarshanji also used to give a thought to preserving environment. He had studied the economic reforms and suggested many a suggestion with indigenous touch to solve finaincial and economic problems.
Sudarshanji strove for swadeshi all through his life and encouraged many others to follow the suit, said Devendra Fadanvis, BJP MLA, who spoke on behalf of BJP president Nitin Gadkari who was away at Surajkund to attend the party’s national executive meeting. He recalled how Sudarshanji encouraged Shri Gadkari and others for production of bio-diesel.
Dr Tapan Chakraborty, former Director of NEERI, recalled how he came in contact with the great leader while conducting some research on cow urine at Go Vigyan Anusandhan Kendra. His association was always inspiring for us, he said.
Sardar Kulwant Singh Tuli, former MP Banwarilal Purohit, Swamini Brahmaprakashananda and Dr Dilip Gupta also paid their tribute to Sudarshanji saying that in his demise the country has lost a pure soul.
