THE verdict of Allahabad High Court in the title suit case of Ramjanmabhoomi suggesting trifurcation of land at Ayodhya would further complicate the problem instead of ushering an era of peace in the country, observed the Sarsanghchalak of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) Shri Mohanrao Bhagwat at Nagpur on December 12 while making a very strong and emotional appeal for construction of a grand Ram Temple at Ayodhya.

Shri Bhagwat was addressing a massive gathering of Hindus on the occasion of Virat Hindu Sammelan and culmination of Hanumatshakti Jagaran Abhiyan at the sprawling Reshambag grounds. The massive Hindu awakening program was organised by Hanumat Shakti Jagaran Samiti of Nagpur. It may be mentioned here that Shri Bhagwat had launched the Hanumatshakti Jagaran Abhiyan at Nagpur on August 16 this year.

The dais was shared by Jagatguru Swami Narendra-charyaji Maharaj of Dakshin Peeth, Nanijdham near Ratnagiri in Maharashtra, Vidarbha Regional Committee President Prafulla Gadge, Nagpur President Raje Mudhoji Bhosale, and others. Nagpur Mayor Archana Dehankar, Sardar Malkiyat Singh, VHP State President Vijayjit Valia also graced the occasion.

In his speech Shri Bhagwat said that division of land would not solve any problem. On the contrary it will further escalate the gravity of the situation. Ayodhya is the birthplace of Sri Ram and as such it belongs to the Hindus. Trifurcation of land at Ayodhya cannot be a solution to justify and accept this truth. It will only complicate the case further, Shri Bhagwat said.

He further added that the pseudo-secularists in India who follow the western ideologies and lifestyle wanted the Hindus to remain divided. They have been making all out efforts to make the Hindus forget their glorious past culture, traditions etc. Construction of a grand and magnificent Ram Temple at Ramjanmabhoomi in Ayodhya is the only solution to re-establish the unity of people and make them realise their lost identity, he added.

The Sarsanghachalak made a fervent appeal to the Hindus to identify their ‘swa’ or self esteem and identity. He exhorted the gathering to remain united because “it is our unity that forms the very spirit of this country”. The entire country can be united on the issue of Ram Temple at Ayodhya, Shri Bhagwat said adding that this had happened in the past and can be achieved once again provided we build a grand temple at Ayodhya.

The partition of Ramjanmabhoomi would divide the society and weaken the country, the Sarsanghachalak warned stating that this would provide an opportunity to the Hindu-baiters and anti-India forces active in the country to further widen the divide in the Indian society. He said that Ram, Krishna and Buddha were the symbols of our identity. We failed to recognise them but the invaders realised that and exactly for this reason they demolished the Ramjanmabhoomi at Ayodhya, Krishnajanmabhoomi at Mathura and countless idols of Lord Buddha. The invaders wanted to destroy the bond of Hindutva that held the society together in periods of turbulence in the past. The same job is now taken up by the pseudo-secularists and their friends in the political arena. Therefore, construction of a grand Ram Temple was the only befitting reply to them. That alone would frustrate all their plans to drive a wedge in the Indian society, Shri Bhagwat asserted.

Launching a veiled attack on Congress Shri Bhagwat said “the pseudo secularists in power want us to stay divided forgetting our ‘swatva’ and it is the part of their game-plan to target the hardcore nationalists, malign them and implicate them falsely in some or the other terrorist activities. It is in line with the external aggressions India faced right from the days of Babur to British”.

The RSS Sarsanghachalak further said that after independence there was a need to re-assert and re-establish our national identity. But that did not happen. Certain sections of the leadership did not want to bring about unity in the society and therefore, kept the issues that divided the society forever, to fulfill their political ambitions. “It is not Ramjanmabhoomi which is the cause of differences in the society, but the policies of these pseudo-secularists that are creating this division among the masses”, Shri Bhagwat said to the thundering applause from and chanting of Jai Sri Ram from the audience.

Jagatguru Narendracharya Maharaj of Dakshin Peeth, Nanijdham reiterated the demand of RSS, VHP and other like-minded organisations and said that the Government should enact legislation to hand over the land at Ayodhya to Hindus for the construction of Ram Temple. “Ramjanmabhoomi must be handed over to the Hindus to enable them build a grant Ram temple there”, he said amidst a thunderous round of applause and slogans of Jai Sri Ram from the audience. Peaceful resolution of this issue was possible only through legislation, he added.

The decision of the Allahabad High Court to trifurcate the Ramjanmabhoomi land was unacceptable to Hindus, the Jagatguru thundered stating that for the construction of grand Ram temple it was necessary that the entire plot be handed over to the Hindus. To usher in an era of Ramrajya in the country, it was imperative to build a magnificent temple of Sri Rama at the Janmabhoomi, he demanded. The saint further exhorted the people to form pressure groups to convince the Members of Parliament to force the government to come up with legislation to this effect.

Taking a dig at the Andhshraddha Nirmulan Samiti active in Maharashtra in attacking Hindus and their articles of faith, he asked: “Why do they focus only on vices in one religion?” They should instead rename their organisation as “Hindushraddha Nirmulan Samiti”, he sarcastically suggested.

The Jagatguru expressed concern over the continuous attempt to convert Hindus to Christianity by the Christian Missionary organisations. This posed a serious threat to our polity as a whole and should be opposed. Poverty was not the sole reason for conversion, he said, adding that if the Hindus did not pay attention to this threat they would find themselves in difficulty over a period of time. Not reacting to this would make them face either embrace Islam or Christianity, he warned the Hindu society. He also stressed reconverting such persons and said that so far he had brought back 1.78 lakh families back in the fold of Hindu polity.

The Virat Hindu Sammelan began with the collective chanting of Hanuman Chalisa. Introductory remarks were made by Subodh Acharya, Regional Convener of the Samiti. The Bajarang Dal activists presented ‘Gada’ to Jagatguru Narendracharyaji Maharaj symbolising the strength of the Hindu society. The calendar of VHP for 2011 was released by the RSS Sarsanghachalak and other dignitaries on this occasion.

Earlier, the Hanumatshakti Jagaran Abhiyan was formally concluded with performing 27-Kundiya Hanumat Shakti Maha Yagya at Reshambag grounds. The RSS Chief Dr Mohanrao Bhagwat, Raje Mudhoji Bhosale and others offered purnahuti marking te concluding of the event in presence of large number of people.

A total of 37 couples performed the Yagya. Added attraction was presence of students from “Platform School”, started by VHP in Nagpur. RSS Chief Dr Bhagwat freely mingled with these students and enquired about their activities and welfare.
