NEW DELHI: “Dr Keshav Baliram Hedgewar founded the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh on the auspicious day of Vijayadashami in 1925 with the objective of realising the dream of complete independence for Bharat,” said Dr Gopal Prasad Mahapatra Ji, Akhil Bharatiya Samajik Sadbhavana Pramukh at the samapan samaroh of Sangh Shiksha Varg and Karyakarta Vikas Varg–Pratham at Sambalpur.

He stated that complete independence does not merely mean political freedom, but the creation of a supremely prosperous and glorious Bharat, which can be achieved only through character transformation and the awakening of people’s power.

With this objective, the work of organising the Hindu society—the sons of Bharat—through the Sangh’s shakhas has today grown into a vast banyan tree. For social transformation, RSS swayamsevaks are striving to make the ideals of Panch Parivartan an integral part of social conduct. These five areas of transformation are civic discipline, social harmony, environmental conservation, self-reliant lifestyle, and family awakening (Kutumb Prabodhan).

Dr Mahapatra said that when Rashtradharma is practised through the awakening of Lokshakti, society will witness comprehensive transformation. Bharat, attaining complete independence in its truest sense, will emerge as a nation of supreme glory and provide direction to the entire world.

Notably, this year, two such Vargas were organised at the campus of Vedic International School, Sambalpur.

A total of 614 participants, including 479 shiksharthis from 368 locations, took part in the two Vargas. All the shiksharthis bore their own travel and other related expenses.

The valedictory function was graced by Tularam Kalet, Finance Controller of Veer Surendra Sai University of Technology, as the chief guest. He encouraged the swayamsevaks to play a more active role in social and national reconstruction and lauded their commitment.
