VHP president Shri Ashok Singhal was on a four-day tour of Punjab recently. During the tour he met many Sikh saints and urged them to extend whole hearted support for the reconstruction of Sri Ram temple in Ayodhya. “Sri Ram is revered by all and Guru Gobind Singhji has mentioned about it in details. There are many incidents in Shri Guru Granth Saheb related to Sri Ram,” he said.

Shri Singhal offered prayer at Gurudwara Sachkhand Nanaksar on September 8 and met Sant Baba Lakkha Singh and Sant Baba Harbhajan Singh. Both the saints assured full cooperation of Nanaksar sect in reconstruction of the temple. On September 9, he met Baba Teja Singh and Baba Balvinder Singh at Gurudwara Rada Sahib. After that he went to Bhaini Saheb and met Sadguru Jagjit Singh of Namdhari sect. Sadguru Jagjit Singh is one of the founder members of VHP. Shri Singhal visited Harimandir Saheb in Amritsar on September 11. After having darshan of Shri Akal Takhta Saheb he met Gyani Gurbachan Singh and requested him to conduct special path and ardaas in all the Gurudwaras of the country for Sri Ram temple. During this tour Shri Singhal also met many Nirmale, Udasi, Sanyasi, Jaini, Ravidasi, Valmiki, Namdhari and Sikh saints.
