NATIONAL Executive meeting of Bharatiya Railway Mazdoor Sangh (BRMS) was held in Chennai from April 19 to 20. The meeting was inaugurated by BMS national president Shri Girish Awasthi. Speaking on the occasion Shri KC Mishra, organising secretary of the BMS, said it was the common responsibility of all the trade unions to condemn and prevent privatisation in railways. Representatives from all the trade unions like AIRF, NFIR, DMK, AIADMK were also present at the inaugural session. The National Executive reaffirmed that next Triennial Conference would be held from October 1 to 2 at Kharagpur. The meeting condemned privatisation in railways and demanded that IT exemption limit be raised to five lakh, the previous pension scheme should be restored and vacant posts should be filled soon.
