ACCUSING the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam Board of preparing ground for using the gochar land donated by devotees to the Lord for employees’ housing activities, Tirumala Tirupathi Samrakshana Samiti (TTSS) and Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) staged a dharna at TTD administrative building.

Speaking on the occasion, VHP Prant joint secretary Shri DR Narendra said the land was gifted to the Lord for spiritual and devotional activities. He alleged that some TTD employees’ union leaders were building pressure over the TTD trust board and Executive Officer to utilise the land meant for spiritual activities for the housing activities.

Shri Rajasekhar, TTSS district convener, speaking on the occasion said the TTSS was not against allotment of the housing sites to TTD employees, but the donated lands of goushala and gochar should not be used for this purpose. Later, VHP and TTSS leaders submitted a memorandum to TTD Executive Officer Shri IYR Krishna Rao.
