The fifth three-day (ICAPP) concluded in Kazakhstan on September 27. The main theme of the conference was “Towards an Asian Century”. The ruling People’s Democratic Party “Nur Otan” of Kazakhstan organised the meet. Former member of Delhi Legislative Assembly Shri Vijay Jolly and senior advocate Smt Pinky Anand represented the main opposition party, the Bharatiya Janata Party, in the meeting.

Delegates from 68 nations including Asian continent participated in the meeting. The members of the Congress Party were led by the AICC Working Committee Member Shri Anil Shastri and AICC Secretary Shri K Suresh. Other leaders included former Union Minister of State for External Affairs Shri Hari Kishor Singh, JD (U) General Secretary Shri KC Tyagi, Shri Devender Tyagi, Shri Vivek Sud, CPI(M) leader Mohd. Salim, CPI National Committee Member Shri Ismail K Ibrahim Shahid along and CPI National Secretary Shri Shamim Salizee.

BJP representative Shri Vijay Jolly and Smt Pinky Anand presented BJP saffron scarf to the foreign delegates. They also presented scroll of honour mementos on behalf of BJP national president Shri Rajnath Singh to the leaders.

Speaking at the meeting Shri Vijay Jolly lambasted Pakistan for aiding and abetting terrorism. His speech won all-around applause of the assembled foreign delegates and diplomats. He stated that India always wanted friendly relations with Pakistan, China and Bangladesh. But the anti-India policies of its neighbours have always slighted and disappointed India during the last 62 years. Smt Pinky Anand co-chaired a special session on Asian Women at the ICAPP. She earned goodwill for BJP and India with her eloquent speech and style.
