Thiruvanantha-puram: Theatre has always been an effective medium for interaction and a passion for Keralites. In spite of the emergence of television and films, specifically designed campaignings and theatre still hold appeal among the masses. A team of ABVP activists worked out a street play to awaken the people about the importance of casting their vote. Current social and political issues were portrayed in a satirical vein. The 15-member team was selected from students who have fared well in art and cultural competitions organised by the university and other organisations. Students appearing for final examinations were excluded. Still, there was no dearth of talent. The response was encouraging and the ABVP units are requesting them to perform the play at all the district centres.
