The theme of the birth-centenary year of Shri Guruji, which began on February 24, 2006 from Nagpur, is social harmony and thousands of functions are being held across the country to promote it. The concluding ceremony of the centenary year will be held as Samarasata Mahakumbh at Burari Grounds in Delhi on February 18. More than two lakh people are expected to participate in the function.

The bhoomipoojan for the function was held on February 1. RSS Sahsarkaryavah Shri Suresh Soni along with Dr Bajranglal Gupt, national secretary of the Birth Centenary Year Celebration Committee, and others performed the bhoomipoojan. Prominent among those who were present on the occasion were Swami Raghwanand, president of Delhi Pradesh Birth Centenary Year Celebration Committee, Shri Prem Chand Goel, Akhil Bharatiya Sewa Pramukh, Shri Dinesh Kumar, Kshetra Pracharak, Shri Ramesh Prakash, Kshetra Karyavah, Sardar Chiranjiv Singh, founder of Rashtriya Sikh Sangat, Dr Harsh Vardhan, Delhi BJP president and representatives of various other organisations of Delhi.

Elaborating on the details of the function, Dr Bajranglal Gupta said representatives of all castes and communities of Delhi would participate in the concluding ceremony. He said it would present an eye-catching sight of social harmony. Domraja of Kashi will also attend the function along with leading saints. Besides this, more than 2,500 trained ghoshvadaks of the Sangh will demonstrate the Sangh band. He pointed out that on February 17, five impressive pathsanchalans would be taken out at five places?Chandani Chowk (at 4.00 pm), Kalkaji ( at 4.30 pm), Lakshmi Nagar (at 4.30 pm), Punjabi Bagh (at 4.30 pm) and Rohini (at 4.30 pm).

Vice President Shri Bhairon Singh Shekhawat, national president of Birth Centenary Year Celebration Committee Swami Satyamitranand Giri, Sarsanghachalak Shri K.S. Sudarshan, Gayatri Parivar chief Dr Pranav Pandya, Juna Peethadhishwar Swami Avadheshanand and Sadhvi Ritambhara will address the gathering.  (FOC)
