The Election Commission of India (ECI), in coordination with the Chief Electoral Officers (CEOs) of Odisha, Ladakh, Sikkim and the Union Territory of Dadra & Nagar Haveli and Daman & Diu, has launched or intensified special campaigns to ensure that every eligible citizen is included in the electoral rolls.

Official announcements issued on October 15, 2026, outlined measures to improve voter registration, facilitate corrections and provide assistance to people whose names may be missing from the lists. The campaigns involve election officials at the district, Assembly constituency and polling booth levels.

Under the common slogan, “No eligible voter left out,” the authorities have urged citizens to verify their names in the electoral rolls and use the prescribed forms to register or update their details.

Odisha: Special campaign across all 147 assembly constituencies

The Chief Electoral Officer of Odisha has announced a special campaign covering all 147 Assembly constituencies in the state.

The drive aims to ensure that eligible citizens are not excluded from the electoral rolls. Electoral Registration Officers (EROs), Assistant Electoral Registration Officers (AEROs) and Booth Level Officers (BLOs) have been involved in the outreach and assistance process.

Citizens have been advised to check their names in the voter list and submit the relevant applications wherever necessary.

How voters can register or correct their details

The special drives share a common objective: to improve the accuracy of electoral rolls while ensuring that eligible citizens are not excluded.

Voters can take the following steps:

1. Check their names: Verify whether their names appear in the current electoral roll.
2. Apply for registration: Submit Form 6 if eligible and not already enrolled.
3. Raise objections: Use Form 7 for objections to inclusion or requests for deletion, as applicable under election rules.
4. Correct existing details: Submit Form 8 for corrections, changes in residence, replacement of an EPIC or the relevant disability marking.
5. Seek assistance: Contact the local BLO, district or constituency election office, or call the national voter helpline at 1950.
6. Citizens can also use the Election Commission’s official voter services platforms to access relevant registration services and information.

Applications are subject to verification and the applicable electoral registration rules. Voters should check local announcements for camp schedules and deadlines, particularly where claims and objections must be submitted within a specified period.

ECI focuses on inclusive and accurate electoral rolls

The coordinated announcements from Odisha, Dadra & Nagar Haveli and Daman & Diu, Ladakh and Sikkim highlight the Election Commission’s continued emphasis on voter-list accuracy and inclusion.

The campaigns rely on field-level officials, special camps, helpdesks and public outreach to make enrolment services more accessible. They are particularly relevant for first-time voters, eligible citizens whose names may be missing, and electors who need to correct or update their details.

The objective is to maintain accurate electoral rolls without leaving eligible voters out of the democratic process.

The election authorities have urged citizens to verify their enrolment details, use the prescribed application forms and contact the relevant election offices for clarification on deadlines and procedures.
