Keralam: BJP MP Sadanandan Master says Delhi agitation seeks to tarnish Bharat’s democratic image

BJP Rajya Sabha MP C. Sadanandan Master criticised the October 10 agitation in Delhi demanding Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar’s resignation, describing it as an attempt to tarnish Bharat’s global image and defending the country’s electoral system.

Rajya Sabha MP and BJP leader C. Sadanandan Master said on October 10 that the agitation drama in Delhi, demanding the resignation of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar, is a carefully orchestrated design to tarnish the image of the country before the world community. These protests are taking place when the country is making progress in the digital, economic, agricultural and educational sectors.

Sadanandan Master stated that Bharat has a foolproof electoral system based on modern technological know-how. Countries such as the US have been accepting Bharat’s democratic process as a role model. Some are intolerant towards the developments the country has been achieving in various sectors under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. They are trying to propagate illogical and anti-national ideals in the name of SIR and anomalies in the election system. They are trying to spread disquiet across all sectors and regions. He underlined the need for stringent government action to contain these sorts of anti-national activities.

Bharat’s capital is a centre of attraction for the whole world. Riots in such a city will tarnish the image of the country before the entire world.

Sadanandan Master’s statement comes in the wake of the violent agitations that CJP and CPM had unleashed in Delhi on October 10.

CPM leader Pinarayi Vijayan, former Chief Minister and the current Leader of the Opposition in the Kerala Assembly, his close lieutenants K.N. Balagopal MLA (former Kerala Finance Minister) and John Brittas MP (Rajya Sabha), former CPM ministers P.K. Sreemati Teacher and K.K. Shailaja Teacher, and CPM general secretary M.A. Baby were taken into custody on October 10 in Delhi.

Chief Minister V.D. Satheeshan had participated in the CJP agitation on October 7 in Delhi. Satheeshan has been following a double standard in this regard. His Home Minister, Ramesh Chennithala, had said immediately after the 2026 Assembly elections that SIR had helped them come to power because CPM could not cast bogus votes. Still, Satheeshan and his party participate in the CJP agitation.
