“Sevabharati has always been upholding charity and everyone should realise the value of charity. It is part and parcel of Bharatiya culture,” said Madhu S. Nair, former Chairman & Managing Director of Cochin Shipyard Limited, in Kochi on August 23.
He was inaugurating Seva Kumbh 2026 at Madhavji Auditorium in Madhava Nivas, RSS Dakshin Kerala Pranth Karyalaya. Seva Kumbh 2026 was a conclave of Sevabharati workers and the beneficiaries of Sevabharati activities.
Madhu S. Nair said it becomes a great thing when everyone understands the value of charity and is able to sustain it. He said that Seva Bharathi has always been moving forward by holding fast to the habit of giving, which is part of the culture.
He reminded that these are the days of AI technology and speed. He said that no matter how much time changes, Seva Bharathi is moving forward without giving up its values by supporting the needy, not in a transactional manner, but with a spirit of dedication and keeping aloof from profit motive.

Sevabharati has been running dialysis centres, distribution of medicines for cancer patients, drinking water projects in tribal areas and giving helping hand to backward individuals and societies and bringing them to the mainstream of the social life.
Vishnuprasad B. Menon said Vishwa Seva Bharathi has been implementing many activities such as dialysis centres, providing medicine to cancer patients, implementing drinking water projects in forest areas, uplifting economically and socially backward individuals and areas to the mainstream, educational activities, and the ‘A Place to Rest’ project. He added that in this way, Seva Bharathi has always been working as a source of hope.
Vishnuprasad B. Menon felicitated Madhu S. Nair for his exemplary service to the nation. Pravasi Kshemasamiti patron T.V. Venugopal and Dr. Darshana Sureshbabu were also felicitated.
Darshana is LLM First Rank holder from Cochin University for Science and Technology. She obtained her PhD in Intellectual Property Rights. Merit scholarship was awarded to Sneha who scored extraordinary marks in her Plus Two examinations.
