Jagdalpur: In a significant breakthrough in anti-Maoist operations, security forces have recovered a concealed arms dump belonging to Maoists from the forests of Bodhrajpadar under the Bhejji police station limits in Sukma district. The joint operation led to the seizure of a .315 bore bolt-action rifle, 49 live cartridges, and an aluminium container.
The operation was carried out by a joint team of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) 50th Battalion and Bhejji police, acting on specific intelligence inputs. According to police officials, the operation was conducted under the guidance of Superintendent of Police Mayank Gurjar and Additional Superintendent of Police (Operations) Rohit Shah as part of an ongoing anti-Naxal operation in the district.
Operation Led by Senior Officials
The search operation was executed on August 3 under the supervision of DIG (Konta Operations) Rajesh Pandey and Commandant of the CRPF 50th Battalion, Premjeet Kumar. The joint team launched the mission from the Elarmadgu Forward Operating Base (FOB) and carried out an intensive search in the dense forest area of Bodhrajpadar.
DIG Rajesh Pandey stated that after the recovery, security personnel conducted further combing operations in the surrounding forest areas to trace additional Naxal hideouts, weapons, or explosive materials.
Dump Found 2.8 Kilometres from Camp
During the search, the hidden dump was located approximately 2.8 kilometres from the Elarmadgu camp. It had been buried underground by Maoists to evade detection.
The seized items include one .315 bore bolt-action rifle, 47 rounds of 7.62×39 mm live ammunition, two rounds of 7.62×51 mm live ammunition, and one aluminium container. All materials have been taken into custody by the security forces.
Personnel Return Safely; Operations to Continue
Following the successful completion of the operation, the joint team returned safely to the Elarmadgu camp. Police officials confirmed that anti-Maoists operations in the district will continue with full intensity.
Superintendent of Police Mayank Gurjar reiterated that sustained efforts are being made to curb Naxal activities in the region. He emphasized that such recoveries reflect the effectiveness of coordinated action by security forces.

Police have appealed to local residents to cooperate with security agencies by reporting any suspicious or Naxal-related activities. Authorities assured that the identity of informants will be kept strictly confidential.
Officials said that public cooperation, along with continued vigilance by security forces, is crucial to establishing lasting peace, development, and trust in the region.
Ongoing Efforts to Curb Naxal Activity
Security forces stated that anti-Naxal search operations will continue in the area to dismantle insurgent networks and recover hidden arms or explosives. The latest seizure is seen as a step forward in weakening Naxal infrastructure in Sukma district.
