New Delhi: The formal launch of Sangh Prarthana: Gita Ke Pariprekshay Mein, authored by Dr Markandeya Ahuja and published by Suruchi Prakashan, was held at the Vichar Vinimay Nyas Auditorium, Keshav Kunj, Jhandewalan, New Delhi, on August 3, 2026.
The event was graced by Dr Krishna Gopal, Sah-Sarkaryavah of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), who delivered the keynote address, while renowned Gita scholar and founder of GIEO Gita, Swami Gyananand Maharaj, offered his blessings and spiritual reflections.
The programme commenced with a welcome address by Rajneesh Jindal, Managing Director of Suruchi Prakashan, who highlighted the organisation’s long-standing contribution to literary and intellectual discourse. He noted that the publishing house currently offers more than 600 titles across diverse subjects through over 150 bookstores across India as well as various online platforms.
Speaking on the occasion, the author, Dr. Markandeya Ahuja, elaborated on the inspiration and objective behind the book. He observed that the Sangh prayer is not merely a collection of words, but an expression of India’s civilisational vision, national consciousness, sense of duty and spiritual values. He further explained that the book examines the deeper dimensions of the prayer through the philosophical framework of the Bhagavad Gita.
In his address, Dr Krishna Gopal reflected upon the enduring relevance of the Gita and its central role in shaping India’s intellectual and cultural traditions. He stated that the Bhagavad Gita presented the world with a distinctive philosophical vision rooted in duty and selfless action. Referring to the book, he remarked that the author had succeeded in conveying, through a few carefully crafted lines, the spirit that is most needed in contemporary times. Drawing a parallel with the dialogue between Lord Krishna and Arjuna, he said that just as Krishna dispelled Arjuna’s delusion and inspired him to fulfil his duty, the book seeks to inspire swayamsevaks to embrace their responsibilities with clarity and conviction.
Swami Shri Gyananand Maharaj emphasised that the essence of the Sangh prayer is deeply aligned with the teachings of the Bhagavad Gita. He explained that the purpose of the prayer is to remove the veil that clouds the human mind, comparing it to the way clouds temporarily obscure the light of the sun without diminishing its brilliance. Concluding his address, he led the audience in a collective recitation of the prayer and extended his blessings to both the author and the publisher.
The vote of thanks was delivered by Ankur Pathak, Chief Executive Officer of Suruchi Prakashan. The event was attended by Rajiv Tuli, Chairman of Suruchi Prakashan, trustees Manmohan Singh and Sumit Maluja, Rahul Singh, and several distinguished personalities from the fields of education, literature, spirituality and social service. The guests described the book as a significant contribution towards understanding the philosophical and cultural foundations of Indian thought.
The programme was anchored by Sampooran Bagri and concluded with the collective singing of Vande Mataram.
