The three-day Digital Democracy Dialogue ‘Triveni: Governance, Culture and Prosperity’ concluded in Lucknow on June 15 after bringing together more than 100 digital creators, policymakers, industry representatives and experts from across the country. The conference was a platform for discussions on governance, economic growth, cultural heritage and citizen engagement, while highlighting Uttar Pradesh’s development journey over the past nine years.
The event featured a series of discussions on public policy, infrastructure, investment, youth empowerment and cultural renaissance. Distinguished participants included former BrahMos Aerospace CEO and Managing Director Sudhir K. Mishra, Additional Chief Secretary Veena Kumari Meena, Editors Club of India President Amitabh Agnihotri, social activist Shehzad Poonawalla and several other eminent speakers.
A major focus was Uttar Pradesh’s transformation in areas such as law and order, infrastructure creation, industrial development and investment promotion. Speakers highlighted various initiatives undertaken by the state government and discussed their impact on economic growth and public welfare.
During one of the sessions, Sudhir K. Mishra said that effective governance requires both vision and timely execution. Referring to the BrahMos missile manufacturing facility in Lucknow, he noted that the project received swift administrative support, helping attract significant investment and strengthening the state’s role in India’s defence manufacturing sector. He also credited the government’s proactive approach for facilitating industrial corridor development and improving the investment climate.
Addressing the issue of women’s participation in governance and industry, Veena Kumari Meena said that more women are now taking up leadership positions in various government departments. The sugar sector has witnessed a notable rise in women’s participation, reflecting the impact of enabling policies, stronger governance mechanisms and increased empowerment of women in the workforce.
Speaking on governance and economic reforms, Amitabh Agnihotri said that strong leadership, transparency and accountability are essential for sustained development. He noted that better law and order has encouraged investment and accelerated infrastructure growth. He also highlighted initiatives like the One District One Product (ODOP) programme, which aim to boost entrepreneurship and strengthen local industries.
The conference featured dedicated sessions on governance reforms, accountable institutions, citizen-centric policies, infrastructure, investment, youth development and cultural revival. Participants exchanged views on how digital platforms can contribute to informed public discourse and strengthen democratic engagement.
The event concluded with an address by Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, who spoke about Uttar Pradesh’s governance-led development model and shared his vision for its future growth. The discussions ended with a collective call for stronger collaboration among policymakers, industry leaders, content creators and citizens to drive inclusive and sustainable development.
