Keralam: Madrasa Ustad Shemeer Asari sends Obscene video to Girls in WhatsApp Group, asks if they can do the same

Another shocking case has emerged from Keralam’s Thiruvananthapuram, where a madrassa ustad has been found sending obscene videos to children aged between 12 and 14. Shemeer Asari, an ustad associated with the Jawahar Beemappalli Muslim Jamaat Committee, is absconding after a case was registered based on complaints filed by the children’s parents.

According to reports, he sent obscene videos and lewd messages to the children. It is alleged that Usthad Shemeer created a WhatsApp group for online Madrasa classes and added children aged 12 to 14 to it. He reportedly sent obscene videos to the girl students along with the Madrasa lessons. He also sent messages to the girls with the alleged intention of sexually exploiting them. It is further alleged that he sent obscene messages and videos to the group and asked the children about the content.

He reportedly asked them if they could meet and do what was shown in the videos. As soon as the parents saw the obscene messages, they complained to the police. The police have registered a case under the POCSO Act. So far, the police have not arrested the accused. The parents had initially complained to the Jamaat Committee, but their complaints were ignored. After waiting for several days, they approached the Poonthura Police.

This is yet another instance of a clergyman allegedly misusing his position to exploit children. It is high time that senior religious leaders intervened in such matters and took concrete steps to prevent the misuse of authority within religious institutions.

Apparently, a video of Asari delivering a speech has gone viral on social media. In the speech, he expresses concern about the influence of social media on children, stating that they can be misled or exploited through online platforms. He also urges parents to closely monitor their children’s social media activities and online interactions.
