Zurich: In a shocking and threatening testament to growing selective targeting, communal violence and abuse across the globe, an armed man with a sharp bladed weapon unleashed an attack on three people and caused severe injury. The dreadful incident occurred at the Winterthur train station near Zurich in Switzerland. What was more frightful was the perpetrator shouted “Allahu Akbar” after causing the injury.

The incident took place on May 28, Thursday morning around 8:30AM and the culprit has been taken to custody by the Zurich cantonal police. As per the preliminary investigations, the perpetrator is identified as a 31 year-old Swiss national. However, his true intentions behind the knife attack are under investigation, the police statement further added. Zurich cantonal police said it was undertaking the investigations in cooperation with Winterthur Municipal Police and the Swiss Federal Railways’ transport police.

The footage pertaining to the attack at the Winterthur station has been telecasted by various Swiss media and it depicts a man with long hair, wearing black T-shirt and shorts running outside the station shouting “Allahu Akbar”.
