NEW DELHI: “RSS does not give formal inputs for India’s foreign policy, the doctrine followed by PM has ingredients of RSS worldview. Austerity measures have been announced earlier too. PM calling for austerity measures are in the best interest of the country, said Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh Sarkaryavah Dattatreya Hosabale in an exclusive interview with PTI’s CEO & Editor-in-Chief Vijay Joshi.
“India can play a role because India’s position in the last at least a decade or more has changed on the world map. So, India is also heard, seen, recognised and respected. That is why India can also play a role in appealing to the good sense of countries, nations and leaders. They can play a role there. We should engage people in positive debates and dialogue, he said”
“As part of our global outreach efforts in the backdrop of the centenary of RSS, we thought of meeting local people and those who are influential in various segments of society. This gave me an opportunity to go to places, meet people and explain how RSS philosophy is civilisationally inspired by India’s ancient culture and its spiritual message to the world, he further said”
When asked about the Indians living abroad who are building temples everywhere which is leading to friction with locals and how they should balance this, he said, “The thing is, it’s not a headache, all these things, whether they have erected a Hanuman statue or are building temple, have they built it illegally? No. When I say, majority of people from this country, they have not involved themselves in illegal activities. Their crime rate is so low. About the friction, in the gulf countries also, there is a magnificent Swaminathan Temple, it was made with the help of the government. The friction is there because Indians are earning with their hard work, their fear is they may take away their jobs. The fear is there because of material success of Indians. You have an obligation to the host society where you earn your bread, your allegiance (to that country) should not be questioned. The connect with India is natural, but you should also be concerned about the community you are living with.”
