Bhubaneswar: Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan described Seva Bharati as a shining example of selfless humanitarian service while addressing the annual function of Seva Bharati, Odisha (West) , held in Sambalpur.
Speaking at the event, Dharmendra Pradhan said Seva Bharati is not merely an organisation but a symbol of dedicated service guided by the philosophy of “Service to mankind is service to God.” He praised the organisation for its contributions in the fields of education, healthcare, social reform, and disaster management.
He said the organisation’s commitment to bringing smiles to the faces of the underprivileged and marginalised sections of society is truly inspiring. Emphasising the importance of social responsibility, he remarked that people should not look at service as an act of charity or sympathy, but as a social duty and cultural value.
Highlighting the organisation’s grassroots connect, Dharmendra Pradhan said Seva Bharati has consistently remained engaged with society by addressing local issues and needs. Through programmes related to social self-reliance, traditional community initiatives, and drinking water facilities, the organisation has succeeded in fostering social harmony and a sense of collective responsibility.
The Union Minister also noted that the ambulance service provided by the district administration would further strengthen healthcare delivery in the region. He called upon society at large to actively participate alongside Seva Bharati in initiatives such as goshalas and medical camps being conducted in the area.
Expressing concern over the health and nutrition of children, Dharmendra Pradhan said ensuring a healthy and educated future generation is a shared responsibility of society. He also appealed to people to undertake large-scale plantation drives to combat rising temperatures and completely avoid the use of single-use plastics.
“When society is treated as one family, only then can a healthy and well-organised social structure be built,” he said.
The event was attended by Odisha Panchayati Raj, Rural Development and Drinking Water Minister Rabi Narayan Naik, Sambalpur MLA Jayanarayan Mishra, and several other dignitaries.
Dharmendra Pradhan also congratulated Seva Bharati for continuing its humanitarian activities by bringing together people from all sections of society.
