The reported cases involve patients, minors, nurses, and women in vulnerable situations who approached medical professionals for treatment or employment. In several instances, allegations also point toward impersonation, forged credentials, and misuse of institutional trust within healthcare environments. Authorities have responded by registering FIRs, making arrests, and initiating investigations, while some matters remain under judicial or administrative review.
Together, these incidents highlight recurring concerns regarding verification of medical practitioners, accountability mechanisms in healthcare institutions, and the safety of patients in clinical settings. At the same time, each case remains subject to legal scrutiny, and conclusions depend on ongoing investigations and court outcomes.

1. KGMU Names and Seals Misused; Alleged Fake Doctor Hassam Ahmad Arrested in Lucknow
A case involving the detention and subsequent handover to police of an alleged fake doctor has emerged at King George’s Medical University (KGMU) in Lucknow. During a press conference organised by the university administration, the accused was identified as Hassam Ahmad. According to the administration, he is accused of misusing KGMU’s name, seal, and signatures to prepare forged documents and of establishing contact with students, particularly female students.
University spokesperson Dr. K.K. Singh stated that, following information about suspicious activities, an inquiry team was constituted on the instructions of the Vice-Chancellor. During surveillance, it was found that certain individuals were allegedly planning to connect with students under the pretext of organizing programs and taking them outside. Acting on this, Hassam Ahmad was apprehended and later handed over to the police.
Documents presented during the press conference included a certificate titled “Bhartiya Gaurav Pratibha Samman 2026,” a Holi holiday notice dated March 2, 2026, and a notice dated April 13, 2026, related to the selection of the MBBS 2023 batch. All these documents bore KGMU’s name, seal, and the Dean’s signature, which the university stated appear prima facie to be forged.
According to the administration, Hassam Ahmad allegedly posed as a doctor and organized medical camps while attempting to move across different departments in a doctor’s attire. On April 20, during one such camp, his activities were found to be suspicious, following which surveillance was intensified. He was later apprehended near the Surgery Department. Subsequently, a press conference was held at Brown Hall, where the accused was presented before the media.
During preliminary questioning, the accused reportedly stated that his educational qualification is up to intermediate level and that he studied at an inter college in Lucknow. He also claimed to be running an organisation in the name of social service. However, official confirmation regarding his claim of being a doctor, possible involvement of others, and allegations related to female students will be established only after the investigation.
The inquiry has also revealed that alleged forged letterheads and signatures were used to send letters to students inviting them to participate in programs, including references to events purportedly held at AIIMS, New Delhi.
The KGMU administration stated that misuse of the institution’s name and identity will not be tolerated under any circumstances and that strict legal action will be taken against those found guilty. Students and parents have been advised to verify any information through official sources before relying on it. Police interrogation of Hassam Ahmad is ongoing, and a detailed investigation into the matter is being conducted. The final position will be clarified only after verification of all facts.
2. Doctor Zaid Warsi and Mohammad Aslam Booked on Charges of Rape, Blackmail and Forced Abortion in Sambhal
A doctor identified as Zaid Warsi, brother-in-law of Sambhal Samajwadi Party MP Ziaur Rahman Barq, has been accused of rape, blackmail, and forcing a nurse to undergo abortion. An FIR has been registered against Zaid Warsi and his father, Mohammad Aslam, based on the complaint filed by the victim.
According to the report, the victim is a resident of the Kundarki police station area in Moradabad district. Due to weak financial conditions, she joined Bismillah Hospital located on Chaudhary Sarai Gawan Road in Sambhal as a nurse in December 2022. Zaid Warsi allegedly provided her with a room on the upper floor of the hospital.
The victim stated that on December 15, 2022, when she fell ill, Zaid Warsi came to her room and gave her medicine allegedly laced with an intoxicating substance. After consuming it, she became unconscious. He allegedly recorded obscene photos and videos of her. The following day, he showed her the material and threatened to terminate her employment and make the content viral if she disclosed the incident. Thereafter, he allegedly repeatedly raped her by blackmailing her. When she became pregnant, he allegedly forced her to undergo an abortion.
The victim further alleged that Zaid Warsi took her to cities including Nainital, Haldwani, Bareilly, and Rampur, where he continued to sexually exploit her. Distressed by the continued abuse, she left her job at the hospital on August 19, 2024, and began working in Moradabad. However, the accused allegedly continued blackmailing and sexually exploiting her.
According to the complaint, on October 2, 2025, Zaid Warsi called the victim to Sambhal and allegedly raped her again, after which he forced her to consume contraceptive pills. The victim stated that the continued sexual exploitation, forced abortion, and medication adversely affected her physical and mental health. She eventually informed her mother about the incidents.
The victim and her mother later went to Bismillah Hospital to confront Zaid Warsi. However, they were allegedly abused verbally by him and his father and were forced to leave the premises. Subsequently, they approached the police station and submitted a written complaint.
Station in-charge Gajendra Singh stated that an FIR has been registered based on the victim’s complaint. Further investigation in the matter is ongoing.
3. Doctor Rizwan Arrested After Alleged Misconduct With Patient at Private Hospital in Haridwar
A case of alleged misconduct by a doctor with a female patient has been reported from the Mangalore Kotwali area in Roorkee. The incident took place at a private facility identified as Loknayak Hospital in Landhaura, where a doctor named Rizwan has been accused of inappropriate conduct with a patient. Following the complaint, a case was registered against the accused, who was later arrested on Sunday night.
According to the report, the woman, a resident of the Landhaura area, had been married six months prior and had come to her parental home with her husband. On January 31, she fell ill and was admitted to the private hospital. It is alleged that doctor Rizwan visited her multiple times for check-ups. During one such visit, he reportedly asked the patient’s husband to go to the market to buy fruits.
The complaint alleges that, after finding the patient alone, the accused lifted her clothes and engaged in inappropriate conduct. When the husband returned, the woman informed him about the incident. Subsequently, her family members arrived at the hospital, leading to a commotion at the premises. Amid the situation, the accused doctor and hospital staff allegedly closed the hospital and left the location.
During the protest, the victim’s family recorded a video in which the woman is seen crying and accusing the doctor of misconduct. Another video showed the hospital premises closed after the accused and staff had left.
Following this, the family approached Mangalore Kotwali police station and submitted a written complaint seeking action against the accused. Taking cognizance of the matter, police registered a case against doctor Rizwan. Rural SP Shekhar Chandra Suyal stated that the accused has been arrested and that further investigation in the case is underway.
4. Quack Abid Alias Zubair Arrested for Alleged Misconduct With Woman During Medical Examination in Rampur
A quack identified as Abid alias Zubair has been arrested in Bilaspur area of Rampur district for allegedly stripping a woman and engaging in obscene acts under the pretext of a medical examination. The case was registered following a complaint filed by the victim’s husband on Monday.
According to the report, the woman, a resident of a village under the Kotwali area, had gone to the accused for treatment after her health deteriorated. The accused allegedly took her inside his cabin on the pretext of conducting a medical check-up.
It is alleged that he then forced her to undress and began engaging in obscene acts. Upon the woman raising an alarm, local residents gathered at the spot. Subsequently, the victim’s husband filed a First Information Report against the accused.
Station House Officer Balwan Singh stated that the accused, a resident of Hamidabad village, was arrested from a bypass road near Uttarakhand. Further investigation in the case is underway.
5. Resident Doctor Rameezuddin Nayak Alias Rameez Accused of Sexual Harassment and Alleged Religious Conversion Pressure at KGMU Lucknow
A case involving allegations of sexual harassment and pressure for religious conversion against a resident doctor has been reported at King George’s Medical University (KGMU) in Lucknow. The accused has been identified as Dr. Rameezuddin Nayak, also known as Rameez.
According to reports, the allegations were made by a female student, whose family claimed that the accused doctor established a relationship with her on the pretext of marriage. It was alleged that he later subjected her to mental harassment and pressured her to convert her religion.
The family further alleged that the accused had initially promised marriage and subsequently exerted pressure on the student to accept Islam. When she refused, he allegedly distanced himself and continued to subject her to mental distress. Following these developments, the student reportedly attempted suicide in her hostel and was later provided medical treatment.
The matter came to light after the family raised concerns and demanded action. University authorities initiated an inquiry into the allegations, while police began examining the case.
Separate reports indicate that the accused doctor was also investigated by the university’s internal committee, which examined statements of the complainant, the accused, and other individuals. Based on its findings, further administrative action was recommended.
Police have also registered a case in connection with the allegations, and further investigation is ongoing. Authorities stated that the final conclusions will depend on verification of all facts as part of the inquiry.
6. Muslim Doctor Dr. Aamir and Another Individual Booked on Charges of Sexual Exploitation and Alleged Religious Conversion Pressure in Udaipur
A case has been registered against two doctors of a private hospital in Salumber district of Udaipur following allegations of sexual exploitation and pressure for religious conversion made by a divorced woman.
According to the report, the complainant alleged that she was employed at the residence of one of the accused, identified as Dr. Aamir, where she worked as a cook for a monthly payment of ₹5,000. She alleged that Dr. Aamir pressured her to convert her religion and asked her to wear a burqa while working. The complainant further alleged that she was subjected to sexual exploitation.
The woman also alleged that another individual, identified as Dr. Nitin Shah, supported Dr. Aamir in these actions.
Following the complaint, police registered a case against both accused and conducted the victim’s medical examination. The allegations of religious conversion have led to unrest in the area, with protests being reported in Salumber.
Dr. Nitin Shah denied the allegations, stating that an attempt was being made to defame him and that he does not know the woman.
Police stated that an investigation into the matter is ongoing.
7. Quack Dr. Naeem Qadri Jailed for Assault and Alleged Religious Conversion Pressure on Woman and Daughter in Varanasi
A man identified as Dr. Naeem Qadri, who allegedly posed as a doctor, has been sent to jail in Varanasi after being accused of assaulting a woman and pressuring her to convert her daughter’s religion and arrange her marriage with him. Police stated that no valid medical degree was found in his possession.
According to police, the accused operated a clinic named Rahat Dawakhana at Sheikh Salim Phatak in Nayi Sadak. During questioning by Sigra police, he claimed to practice treatment using Ayurvedic powders, herbs, and faith-based methods. He also claimed to have studied Ayurvedic medicine but failed to produce any degree.
Assistant Commissioner of Police, Chetganj, Dr. Ishan Soni stated that correspondence has been initiated with the Chief Medical Officer to verify the accused’s qualifications and that action will be taken for running a clinic through fraudulent means.
Police stated that, so far, confirmation has been found of pressure for religious conversion on only one family. It was alleged that the accused used to assault the woman to coerce her into complying.
According to the complaint, the accused frequently visited the victim’s house under the pretext of performing rituals and would allegedly behave inappropriately with her. He is accused of pressuring the woman to convert her daughter’s religion and arrange her marriage with him, and also to convert her son. The victim alleged that he would visit every few days and escalate pressure in recent times.
The woman further alleged that on July 28, the accused went to her husband, who works at a shop in Sigra, assaulted him, and issued threats regarding the marriage. Police stated that further investigation in the case is ongoing.
8. Doctor Shamshad Khan Accused of Sexual Exploitation and Alleged Religious Conversion Pressure in Lakhimpur Kheri
A divorced woman from a village in the Magalganj police station area has accused a doctor of sexual exploitation and pressuring her to convert her religion and marry him. The complaint was submitted to Kotwali police.
According to the victim, she approached Dr. Shamshad Khan in search of work due to poor financial conditions. She alleged that he took her to work at his clinic, where he developed a relationship with her and established physical relations on the pretext of marriage. She further alleged that he persuaded her to divorce her husband on the promise of marriage.
The complainant stated that the accused is now allegedly blackmailing her and pressuring her to convert her religion. She also alleged that Dr. Shamshad Khan and his two sons were involved in the sexual exploitation and are issuing threats to her life if she refuses to convert.
Kotwal Ramesh Kumar Pandey stated that the matter is under investigation.
9. Doctor Khalid Khan Arrested for Alleged Religious Conversion Pressure on Minor Girl in Jabalpur
A homeopathic practitioner identified as Dr. Khalid Khan has been arrested in Jabalpur following allegations of influencing a minor girl to adopt another religion. The case was registered after a complaint was filed with Tilwara police.
According to the report, the minor girl fell ill in August 2024, after which her family took her to Dr. Khalid Khan’s clinic located in the Crusher Basti area. During the consultation, the accused allegedly obtained the girl’s mobile number and began contacting her frequently.
It is alleged that Dr. Khalid Khan exerted mental pressure on the girl to adopt another religion. The report states that the girl’s behavior subsequently changed, and she reduced communication with her family and lost interest in her customary practices. She also reportedly began observing fasts during Ramadan at the accused’s insistence.
Family members became concerned when her health deteriorated and her physical condition weakened. Upon being questioned by her mother, the girl disclosed the alleged actions of the accused.
Tilwara police registered a case against Dr. Khalid Khan under relevant sections related to misleading a minor and alleged religious conversion pressure. Station in-charge Brajesh Mishra stated that the accused has been arrested and that further investigation is underway.
Following the incident, members of Bajrang Dal and other organizations staged a protest on the evening of April 4, demanding strict action against the accused. Police stated that the matter is under investigation.
10. Doctor Noor Alam Sardar Arrested for Alleged Rape and Blackmail of Woman Patient in North 24 Parganas
A doctor identified as Noor Alam Sardar has been arrested by Kolkata Police in the Hasnabad area of North 24 Parganas district following allegations of rape and blackmail of a 26-year-old woman patient.
According to the complaint, the accused allegedly administered an intoxicating injection to the woman and sexually assaulted her while she was unconscious. It is further alleged that he recorded a video of the incident and later used it to blackmail the victim, threatening to circulate the footage on social media while demanding ₹4 lakh.
The victim alleged that the accused used the video to repeatedly blackmail and sexually exploit her. The matter came to light after the victim, along with her husband, filed a First Information Report at Hasnabad police station.
Based on the complaint, police arrested Noor Alam Sardar from his clinic-cum-residence located in the Barunhat area. Basirhat Superintendent of Police, Hussain Mehdi Rehman, stated that the accused is a registered medical practitioner and has been arrested on charges of rendering the patient unconscious and sexually assaulting her. He added that the investigation is ongoing and the victim’s confidential statement has been recorded.
The accused was produced before a court, which remanded him to four days of police custody. Further proceedings in the case are underway.
11. Junior Muslim Doctor Dilshad Hussain Arrested for Raping 11-Year-Old Patient at Agra Medical College
Junior resident doctor Dilshad Hussain was arrested for the alleged rape and sexual assault of an 11-year-old patient admitted to the paediatric department at Sarojini Naidu Medical College in Agra.
The minor girl, suffering from fever, was admitted to the hospital’s emergency ward on September 6 and shifted to the paediatric department the next day.
The girl’s mother alleged that the accused doctor Dilshad Hussain, who was on duty at 11:55 p.m. on September 10, sexually assaulted her daughter under the pretext of a medical examination.
She claimed to have reported the matter to helpline number 1098 and demanded action against the accused.
An FIR was registered against Dilshad Hussain at Madan Mohan Gate police station under BNS sections 64(2) (rape by staff) and 65(2) (rape of woman below 12 years of age), along with POCSO Act sections 5(e) (punishment for aggravated penetrative sexual assault), 9(m) (attempt at rape), and 6 (aggravated penetrative assault).
The accused was arrested that same evening and sent to jail on court orders.
Agra assistant commissioner of police Anand Kumar Pandey said the girl has been sent for medical tests and additional evidence is being collected.
SN Medical College and Hospital principal Dr Prashant Kumar stated that the accused, a first-year junior resident doctor in the paediatric department, was handed over to police and suspended.
Dr Kumar added that three committees—disciplinary, departmental, and internal—have been formed to investigate the matter, with further action to be taken based on their findings.
The Junior Resident Doctors’ Association expressed support for the survivor and stated full faith in the police and judiciary.
12. Doctor Shahnawaz and Two Others Arrested for Alleged Rape of Nurse in Moradabad Hospital
A 20-year-old nurse was allegedly raped by a doctor after being confined inside a private hospital in Uttar Pradesh’s Moradabad district. Police have arrested three individuals in connection with the case, including the accused doctor.
According to Superintendent of Police (Rural) Sandeep Kumar Meena, the victim had been working at the hospital for the past seven months. On Saturday evening, she reported for duty at 7 PM. Later that night, another nurse, identified as Mehnaz, allegedly asked her to meet Dr. Shahnawaz in his room.
When the victim refused, Mehnaz, along with a ward boy named Junaid, allegedly forced her into a room on the top floor of the hospital and locked her inside. Police stated that Dr. Shahnawaz later entered the room and allegedly raped her after confining her. He also allegedly issued death threats and used casteist remarks.
Based on the complaint filed by the victim’s father, police registered a case and arrested the three accused. Authorities stated that a detailed investigation into the incident is underway.
On the instructions of Chief Medical Officer Dr. Kuldeep Singh, the hospital was sealed following an inspection by the health department team on Sunday evening.
13. Muslim Quack Mustafa Arrested for Allegedly Deceiving Woman, Forcing Divorce and Marrying Her in Basti
A man identified as Mustafa, described as a quack doctor, has been arrested in Basti district following allegations that he deceived a woman by concealing his identity, induced her to divorce her husband, and later married her.
According to the report, the incident pertains to the Walterganj police station area. The complainant, identified as Rinki Yadav, was married in 2013 to Bhanu Yadav in Siswari village and had a child, now aged nine. During this period, Mustafa reportedly used to visit her matrimonial home for treatment purposes.
The report states that the two developed a relationship over time, during which the accused allegedly misrepresented himself and established physical relations with the woman on the pretext of marriage. Subsequently, the woman divorced her first husband and left with her child.
It is alleged that Mustafa later kept her in a rented accommodation in Sant Kabir Nagar, where he continued physical relations with her. During this time, the woman became pregnant and gave birth to a daughter. After about three years, when she asked the accused to take her to his home, he allegedly refused, reportedly because he was already married to another woman.
The complainant further alleged that the accused subjected her to physical assault on multiple occasions. In one instance, she alleged that severe assault led to the termination of her four-month pregnancy.
Following continued alleged abuse, the woman approached police authorities and filed a complaint. Police registered a case against the accused and subsequently arrested him. Circle Officer City Satendra Bhushan Tiwari stated that a case has been registered based on the complaint and the accused has been sent to jail. Further procedures, including medical examination and recording of statements, are underway.
14. Doctor Syed Hussain Accused of Deception, Forced Conversion, Confinement and Gang Rape; Investigation Underway in Saharanpur
A case involving allegations of deception, forced religious conversion, confinement, and sexual assault has been reported in Saharanpur district, where a woman from West Bengal has filed a complaint against her husband, identified as doctor Syed Hussain. Police have initiated an investigation, and the accused is currently absconding.
According to the complaint, the woman alleged that the accused initially concealed his identity and developed a relationship with her under a different name. She stated that he married her according to Hindu rituals and later brought her to Deoband, where he allegedly forced her to convert her religion and conducted a nikah with her.
The complainant further alleged that after the marriage, the accused confined her in a room equipped with CCTV cameras and subjected her to physical assault. She also alleged that the accused, along with his associates, repeatedly sexually assaulted her.
The woman stated that she approached the police earlier but did not receive assistance. Subsequently, she approached local organizations and presented her allegations publicly. The matter was brought to the attention of Saharanpur Rural Superintendent of Police Sagar Jain, who directed police to conduct an inquiry.
In a related development, a woman identified as the accused’s first wife also made allegations, stating that the accused had entered into multiple marriages and had previously faced legal action. Both women have demanded strict action against the accused.
Police stated that the accused doctor Syed Hussain is currently absconding and that efforts are underway to locate him. Authorities added that appropriate legal action will be taken if the allegations are substantiated.
15. Muzaffarnagar Fake Doctor Muslim Asif Rapes Minor Girl in Clinic
Mohammad Asif, posing as a doctor at his clinic in Budhana police station area, allegedly raped a 14-year-old girl who came for medicine.
The incident occurred on Sunday, February 25, 2024, when the girl from a nearby village went alone to the clinic as she was unwell.
Asif, who was alone, called her inside, gave her some medicine to consume, lowered the clinic shutter, and raped her.
As the girl tried to return home, Asif threatened to kill her and instructed her to remain silent.
The girl reached home and informed her family about the incident.
On Monday, February 26, 2024, the victim’s mother filed a complaint at Budhana kotwali against doctor Asif.
Police registered a case under POCSO Act and other sections; Asif fled after the FIR and raids are being conducted for his arrest.
Muzaffarnagar Drugs Inspector Pawan Shakya stated that Mohammad Asif has a license for a medical store but no authorization for medical practice, yet he prescribes medicines for illnesses.
Fugana Deputy SP Ravi Shankar Mishra said police teams are formed for the accused’s arrest, the minor victim’s medical examination is underway, and she is receiving counseling.
The victim’s family demanded strict action against the accused doctor; the accused and victim belong to the same community.
16. Noida: Fake Doctor Shahzad Arrested in Encounter After Raping 10-Year-Old Girl
Phase 1 Kotwali Police arrested the accused who committed the heinous act against a 10-year-old girl in an encounter. The accused sustained gunshot wounds in both legs and was admitted to the hospital. A country-made pistol and cartridges were recovered from the accused.
On Thursday afternoon, a quack committed the act against a 10-year-old innocent girl living in the Kotwali area and fled the scene. Upon receiving the information, the police team reached the spot and sent the girl for medical examination to the hospital in Sector 39. The accused was identified as Shahzad, originally from Darbhanga district in Bihar, who was working as a quack in JJ Colony, Sector 8.
Three police teams were engaged in the search for the accused quack. DCP Harish Chandra stated that information was received that the accused was hiding in a ruin in the park in Sector 10. On Friday morning, when the police team went to the spot to arrest him, the accused started firing at the police team.
In retaliatory action by the police, Shahzad was injured by bullets in both legs. The injured accused was sent to the hospital. Police are investigating the accused’s criminal history.
A man by profession engaged in making hinges for wooden doors lives with his family in a rented house in the Kotwali area. The family has three daughters. The 10-year-old daughter was playing outside the house around 1 PM on Thursday afternoon. The quack Shahzad, who ran a clinic in the neighborhood, lured her into the clinic.
The accused committed the rape on the innocent girl. After the incident, when the girl reached home drenched in blood, her family members panicked upon seeing her. The girl informed her family members about the incident.
The family members went to the neighboring quack’s clinic, but the accused had fled from the spot. The family members have been terrified since the incident. The victim is undergoing treatment in the hospital.
17. Doctors Sakib and Zakir Accused in Alleged Gang Rape of Woman Patient at Ghaziabad Hospital; One Arrested, One Absconding
A case of alleged gang rape of a woman patient has been reported from the Khoda area of Ghaziabad, where two doctors at a private hospital have been accused of sexually assaulting her after administering anaesthetics.
According to the report, the incident occurred on June 19 when the woman had visited the hospital for treatment. It is alleged that the accused doctors administered anaesthesia and sexually assaulted her.
Police stated that one of the accused, identified as Doctor Sakib, has been arrested, while the other accused, identified as Doctor Zakir, is absconding.
The report states that the victim lodged a complaint on June 25. It is further alleged that the accused threatened to circulate a video of the assault on social media.
In a separate reported incident, it was stated that in Bareilly, Uttar Pradesh, a doctor identified as Javed of M. Khan Hospital allegedly performed circumcision on a three-year-old boy who had been brought for treatment of a tongue-related issue. Following a complaint, the local administration reportedly revoked the hospital’s license.
Police stated that further investigation into the Ghaziabad case is ongoing.
18. Doctor Iqbal Ahmad Sentenced to Life Imprisonment for Wife’s Murder in Bareilly
A court in Bareilly has sentenced a doctor, identified as Iqbal Ahmad, to life imprisonment for the murder of his second wife, Nisha Devi, in 2021.
According to case records, Nisha Devi, a resident of Saharanpur, was found dead at her residence on October 26, 2021, while her husband was missing. Police took the body to a nearby hospital, where an autopsy later confirmed that she had died due to strangulation.
The victim’s nine-year-old daughter informed her maternal relatives that her father had killed her mother. Her statement was later recorded and presented in court. Additional District Government Counsel Sachin Jaiswal stated that the child’s testimony played a key role in the conviction.
As per the prosecution, Iqbal Ahmad had married Nisha Devi around a decade earlier after introducing himself as “Dr Raju Sharma.” The marriage was conducted in Saharanpur according to Hindu rituals, and the couple initially resided there.
It was later revealed that the accused was already married and had concealed his identity. After the couple moved to Meerganj in Bareilly, the victim came to know about his real identity. The prosecution stated that the accused subsequently pressured her to change her religion, which she refused.
Following her death, the victim’s mother, Kaushal Devi, filed a complaint. An FIR was registered under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code, including Section 302 (murder) and Section 34 (common intention), along with provisions of the Prohibition of Unlawful Religious Conversion Act.
Police arrested the accused approximately three months later. During the investigation, it was alleged that the murder was carried out with the assistance of his brother-in-law Mohammad Yaseen and aide Misaryar Khan.
The chargesheet was filed in April 2022. During the trial, the court heard that the minor daughter had witnessed the incident and testified that her father, along with two others, killed her mother while she was watching television.
The case was heard in the court of Additional District and Sessions Judge Tabrez Ahmed, who found all three accused guilty under IPC Sections 302 and 34. The court subsequently sentenced them to life imprisonment.
19. Senior Doctor Saif Arrested After Junior Hindu Doctor Preeti Dies Following Alleged Harassment in Warangal
A junior doctor, identified as Dr Preeti, died during treatment after attempting suicide in Warangal district, with allegations of harassment made against her senior, Dr Saif.
According to reports, Dr Preeti, a student at Kakatiya Medical College, had attempted suicide on February 22, 2023, by administering an anaesthesia injection to herself. She was undergoing treatment at the Nizam Institute of Medical Sciences, where her death was later confirmed on February 26.
Police arrested Dr Saif on February 24 in connection with the case. Authorities stated that evidence collected, including examination of the victim’s phone, indicated that she had been subjected to harassment. A case has been registered against the accused under provisions of the SC/ST Act.
Officials at the Nizam Institute of Medical Sciences confirmed that despite medical efforts, Dr Preeti could not be saved and died at 9:10 pm. Reports indicated that multiple organs of the victim had failed during treatment.
According to the allegations, Dr Saif had been harassing Dr Preeti in the name of ragging. The accused stated that he was attempting to improve her work, which the victim allegedly perceived as distress.
Following the incident, reactions emerged from various groups. The Telangana Junior Doctors Association called for closure of the case, stating that the interactions were normal between seniors and juniors. Meanwhile, a tribal union staged a protest outside the hospital on February 23, alleging delay in action against the accused.
Police stated that further investigation into the case is ongoing.
20. Doctor Khalif Accused of Rape, Deception and Threats Against Student in Delhi; Case Registered
A case of alleged rape and deception has been reported from the Lajpat Nagar area of Delhi, where a student from Assam has accused a doctor, identified as Dr Khalif, of sexual assault and intimidation. Police have registered a case and initiated an investigation.
According to the complaint, the incident began on December 16 when the victim, who was preparing for UPSC examinations, visited Lajpat Nagar Central Market. There, she met a man who introduced himself as “Dr Amar Bhatt.” The two spoke at length and later went together to have food, during which the accused allegedly offered her a cold coffee.
The victim alleged that the drink contained an intoxicating substance, after which the accused took her to a hotel and sexually assaulted her. She further stated that the accused promised to marry her and asked her not to file a complaint.
After the incident, the victim returned home and came back to Delhi on January 5. Upon attempting to contact the accused, she received no response. She later visited a hospital with his photograph, where she learned that his real identity was not Amar Bhatt but Dr Khalif.
According to the complaint, when she contacted him again, the accused called her to Lodhi Garden and allegedly threatened her with death if she continued to pursue the matter.
The victim filed a complaint at Lajpat Nagar police station on January 21. She also alleged that police initially delayed action and attempted to mediate a compromise between the two parties. It was stated that the accused gave a written assurance in the presence of police that he would live with the victim, but he later absconded on January 24.
Police stated that a case has been registered and further investigation into the matter is underway.
21. Muslim Doctor Ajmal son of Yahya Accused of Raping Woman Patient After Sedative Injection; Video Goes Viral, Case Registered
A case of alleged sexual assault has been reported from Vishunapur Bazaar in the Khargupur area of Gonda district, where a woman patient has accused a local practitioner of rape after he allegedly administered a sedative injection. The incident came to light after a video of the alleged act surfaced on social media.
The 24-year-old woman had visited a local clinic for treatment. The practitioner advised her to take an injection. While she initially suggested it be administered in her arm, she was told that the injection could only be given in the hip region. She then agreed to the procedure.
The practitioner forcibly made her lie down on a bench and administered a sedative injection in her hip. He then allegedly engaged in inappropriate behaviour and committed sexual assault. During the incident, a video was recorded, which later went viral on social media.
Following the circulation of the video, the victim’s family reached the clinic to confront the accused, but he managed to flee from the spot. The family stated that the victim did not initially disclose the incident due to fear of social stigma.
The victim’s family later submitted a written complaint at the police station. Police registered a case against the accused practitioner, Ajmal son of Yahya, resident of Vishunapur, under multiple serious sections including administering drugs and committing rape. A medical examination of the victim was also conducted.
Police officials stated that the accused does not hold any medical degree. Considering the seriousness of the case, police personnel were deployed in the area. The Circle Officer City inspected the site and recorded statements from the victim’s family and others. The investigation is ongoing and further action is being taken.
22. Muslim Doctor Dr Ubedullah Accused of Sexual Assault on 19-Year-Old Patient; FIR Registered in Bengaluru
A case of alleged sexual assault has been reported in Bengaluru after a 19-year-old patient accused a Muslim doctor of molestation and harassment during medical treatment. The accused, identified as Dr Ubedullah, runs a clinic in Arundhatinagar near Chandra Layout and is currently absconding.
The victim had visited the clinic for treatment of stomach-related complaints. She alleged that inappropriate contact took place during multiple visits. On one occasion, she visited the clinic with her mother, where the doctor allegedly behaved inappropriately during treatment. On another visit, while being administered glucose, she again faced inappropriate touching. On a subsequent visit, the doctor allegedly asked her accompanying family member to step outside the clinic room and then sexually harassed her inside. She stated that she protested and later informed her family.
The matter came to light after the victim refused to continue visiting the clinic and narrated the incident to her family. Following this, family members went to the clinic to confront the doctor, after which he allegedly fled from the spot.
Police registered a case against the accused Muslim doctor, Dr Ubedullah, based on the complaint. The accused is reported to be a married resident of Cottonpet locality in Bengaluru.
Police have formed special teams to trace and arrest the accused. Further investigation is underway.
23. Muslim Doctor Accused of Rape, Blackmail and Pressure for Religious Conversion of Nurse; Complaint Filed in Baghpat
A case has been reported from Baghpat involving allegations against a Muslim doctor, identified as Dr Akram Qureshi, who has been accused of sexually assaulting a nurse, blackmailing her, and pressuring her for religious conversion.
The complainant, a divorced nurse working at a private hospital in Baraut, alleged that the doctor initially concealed his identity and developed a relationship with her by claiming to be divorced. She stated that he later promised marriage and continued a physical relationship with her for several months. During this period, the accused allegedly recorded an objectionable video of her and used it to threaten and silence her whenever she demanded marriage.
The nurse further alleged that she became pregnant, after which the doctor pressured her to terminate the pregnancy. When she refused, she was allegedly subjected to physical assault and pressure for religious conversion. She also claimed that preparations were made for her conversion and that a fake marriage document was arranged.
The matter escalated when she visited the doctor’s residence, where she alleged that his wife physically assaulted her and attempted to force a miscarriage, after which her condition deteriorated. She later approached police authorities and submitted a written complaint seeking action.
Police officials confirmed that a complaint has been received and an investigation into the matter is underway.
24. Doctor Accused of Sexual Assault on Patient in Hospital, Police Case Registered
A doctor, identified as Dr. Niyaz, a Muslim doctor, has been accused of sexually assaulting a female patient admitted to a hospital in the Deralakatte area of Mangaluru. A case has been registered at Ullal police station following the complaint filed by the patient.
According to the complaint, the woman was admitted to the hospital for treatment of fever and cough. She stated that on February 9, the doctor came to examine her during her stay in the hospital, and the alleged sexual assault took place at that time.
After the incident, members of some women’s organisations reached the hospital and confronted the doctor. He was reportedly assaulted during the confrontation. The victim was later sent for medical examination as part of the investigation process.
Police have registered a case at Ullal police station and initiated further inquiry into the matter.
Hospital staff and representatives have denied the allegations, stating that the doctor was assaulted after he objected to unrelated video recording inside the hospital premises and was later subjected to a physical attack.
The compiled incidents over this thirteen-year period present a pattern of serious allegations linked to individuals operating within or around the medical profession. The cases include charges of sexual violence, coercion, blackmail through recorded content, and alleged exploitation of trust in doctor–patient relationships.
Many of these matters have led to police action, FIR registration, arrests, and in some cases judicial conviction. However, several cases are still under investigation, and legal determination of guilt or innocence rests with the courts.
These reports collectively underline the importance of stricter regulatory checks, stronger institutional safeguards, and effective monitoring of medical credentials.
