Maharashtra: “Humility & gratitude must accompany success and achievement,” says RSS Sarsanghchalak Dr Mohan Bhagwat

NAGPUR: Attaining success alone is not enough; one must also strive to make life meaningful and use success for the welfare of all, said Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh Sarsanghchalak Dr Mohan Bhagwat while addressing the Nag Bhushan Samman organised by the Nag Bhushan Award Foundation on April 26, 2026 at Nagpur.

In his address, Dr Bhagwat noted that power is essential in the world, but for it to be fruitful, those who possess it must not focus solely on personal success. Success, he said, should inspire others. Only when power is accompanied by humility does it become meaningful. He stressed that humility and a sense of gratitude are essential alongside success, and that one’s achievements gain true value when used for a larger purpose.

Referring to the lives of great personalities over the past 200 years, he highlighted the principle of “90 per cent perspiration and 10 per cent inspiration.” He added that expanding one’s sense of belonging beyond the self and family enhances the meaningfulness of success.

He added that such achievements inspire others and instil confidence. “Fame is a source of pride for those who achieve it, but it also instils hope in those who witness it. So, what Satyanarayan Nuwal and Daksh Khante have done is certainly a source of pride, but we, too, feel a sense of pride. We all believe that Nagpur too can achieve things. If people from across the world were here, we would say the same thing. We would say that Bharat can do it too. And suppose, if life existed on other planets, and their conference is held, then we would say that earthlings can do it too,” he said.

Speaking on the occasion, Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis praised Satyanarayan Nuwal’s achievements, noting that he entered the defence production sector at a time when the role of private players was uncertain. Today, the industry has reached significant heights, demonstrating India’s capability to produce high-quality defence equipment. He also mentioned the important contribution of Solar Industries in Operation Sindoor.

Union Minister Nitin Gadkari underlined the importance of strengthening India’s defence capabilities to maintain global peace and ensure that positive forces prevail over negative ones, adding that the country is actively advancing in defence technology development.

The event was also attended Minister of State for Finance and Planning Ashish Jaiswal, Maharashtra and former MP and Foundation President Ajay Sancheti. On the occasion, Padma Shri awardee and Chairman of Solar Industries India Satyanarayan Nuwal was conferred the prestigious Nag Bhushan Award 2025, while ‘Ironman Australia’ winner Daksh Khante was also felicitated.
