Agartala: Marking the auspicious occasion of Adi Shankaracharya Jayanti, the Maa Soundarya Chinmayi Mandir dedicated to Maa Tripureshwari was inaugurated on April 21 at Fakirmura village in Tripura’s Mohanpur subdivision. Built by the Chinmaya Mission, the temple opening coincided with the organisation’s 75th anniversary, drawing prominent dignitaries and spiritual leaders. RSS Sarsanghchalak Mohan Bhagwat, Tripura governor Indrasena Reddy, Chief Minister Manik Saha, Jishnu Devbarman, Governor of Maharashtra and Royal scion of Tripura and Rajmata Bibhu Kumari Devi attended the ceremony, which was followed by a religious and spiritual gathering at the temple premises, reflecting a blend of devotion, cultural heritage, and community participation.

Addressing the auspicious gathering Sarsanghchalak Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh Mohan Bhagwat ji, highly appreciated the service of Chinmaya Mission to the society including the objective of providing completely free education through the Chinmaya Harihara Vidyalaya to weaker section of our society.

In his address as the chief guest, Mohan Bhagwat ji expounded upon the profound distinction between knowledge and true understanding. He stated, “Knowledge or erudition does not merely imply rhetoric; true knowledge is understanding. Over the past two thousand years, the world has experimented with everything—from science to socialism. Yet today, the world is realizing that the entire globe requires Bharat’s worldview and the guidance of Sanatan Dharma.” He opined that Sanatan Dharma is currently showing the right direction to the entire world. Emphasizing the social role of the temple, he said, “The temple is not just a place of worship, it is the center of Indian social life. In the present era, devotion is also needed along with strength. Sarsanghchalak Bhagwat ji sounded a warning in the current context of the country. He said, “The power of unity lies in India’s diversity. But to stop this rise of India, external forces are constantly trying to create division among us. We all need to be very careful in this regard.”

At the beginning of the program, Tripura’s Rajmata Bibhu Kumari Devi gave a message of India’s eternal unity. She said, “We may have diversity, but the motherland of all of us is our Bharatvarsha.” She called for instilling the spirit of surrender to Mother India in the hearts of every citizen.

Tripura Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha in his speech expressed deep gratitude for the presence of the Sarsanghchalak Mohan Bhagwat ji. Praising the beautiful architecture of the temple, he said, “This temple will show the way as a beacon of spirituality and respect not only for Tripura but for the entire people of India.” The Chief Minister highly appreciated the great initiative of providing completely free education by Chinmaya Mission and assured all kinds of cooperation from the state government.

Governor of Tripura, Indasena Reddy, deeply appreciated the role of Chinmaya Mission in the current consumerist social system. He said, “Establishing these schools and temples in a border state like Tripura is not just a religious act, it is a unique social reform effort.”
