Thane: Nida Khan, an employee of the TCS unit in Nashik, who is currently absconding and evading arrest in the alleged religious coercion, harassment at the workplace, and sexual exploitation on office premises case had asked a Thane-based gynaecologist named Dr. Shamaila Azmi to prescribe her two weeks or more of complete rest, claiming that she needed the same to seek leave from her office as she has trouble travelling. Dr Azmi said she did not deem it necessary as of now and therefore refused.
Nida Khan is accused in a case related to the religious conversion and sexual harassment of several women colleagues at the office, who have mustered the courage to file FIRs against what is now being called as “corporate jihad” by many. Nida Khan has moved an anticipatory bail application, citing her two-month-old pregnancy.

“A patient named Nida Khan came to my clinic twice, once on 11th April, and the last time on Monday, the 13th April. In her first visit, she had brought a home testing kit (urine pregnancy test) to show that she had tested positive for pregnancy. This is the early stages of her pregnancy.
“She appeared normal, like any other person, and not at all stressed. In her second visit she said she has a stomachache and found it tough to commute to the office and so she wanted me to prescribe rest to her. I had written a week’s rest in the first week. She asked for more rest, like two weeks. I told her I shall do so if I feel so in her next visit.
“Police have not yet approached me,” said Dr Shamaila Azmi.
Meanwhile, as per a report in the Mumbai Mirror, the Nashik SIT team had tracked the accused techie to Mumbra, but she got away before the raid. Sources say multiple teams set up to trace her.
In a dramatic operation, a Nashik police Special Investigation Team (SIT) reached a flat in Mumbra to arrest her only to find that she had already fled by the time officers arrived. Acting on specific inputs about her location, the SIT conducted a raid at the residence on Friday. However, the operation yielded no arrest. “By the time the team reached the flat, the accused had already escaped,” a Crime Branch officer said.
The response of Imtiaz Jaleel, the “ex-MP” and “ex-MLA”, currently serving as the Maharashtra state president for the All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) party is nothing short of shocking.
On his official X (formerly Twitter) social media handle he has extended his sympathetic view towards Absconder Nida Khan instead of the victims of the systemic abuse.
“Unimaginable pain, agony and fear the family of @TCS Nida Khan is going through simply because of the witch-hunt by the media. What stories were being cooked up everyday against the girl until the company, though very late, came up with a clarification of her status in TCS. It’s difficult to understand what stress the girl must have been facing seeing her face all over the media. And all this because of the media trial! The media was enjoying making this girl from a humble background as the greatest villain in the country. If this continues unabated then perhaps people on the streets may start handling the (godi) media on the streets itself! And I bet that day is not very far. We can’t be simply mute spectators.!” Jaleel posted.
