Personal life becomes comfortable only when the nation is secure: RSS Sarsanghchalak Dr Mohan Bhagwat

Today, Bharatiyas receive respect wherever they go in the world. Bharat is now a powerful nation. We have acquired the capability to go to the lands of those who attacked us and teach them a lesson, said RSS Sarsanghchalak Dr Mohan Bhagwat at an event in Keralam on April 6

Bharat will become the ‘Vishwa Guru’ only when everyone strives together. He reminded the audience that Bhagwan Krishna did not lift his little finger to raise the Govardhan Hill until all the Gopis and Gopas attempted to lift it with their own sticks. We must grow, but simultaneously, we must work for the nation, ” said RSS Sarsanghchalak Dr Mohan Bhagwat at the inauguration of the Bala Netru shibir organised in connection with ‘Suvarnamrutham’, the golden jubilee valedictory program of Balagokulam, held at Bhaskareeyam, Elamakkara, Keralam.

Individual and family lives must be conducive to the nation’s interests. Being a good person is not enough; one’s virtues must be utilised for the country. No individual or family can live happily in isolation, he said.

He emphasised that life becomes comfortable for everyone only if the country is secure. Personalities like Sree Narayana Guru and Swami Vivekananda dedicated their acquired character and talents to society.

He noted that Bhagwan Krishna, who took upon himself hardships and sorrows for the welfare of the world, is our role model. The Bhagwan was born in a prison and had to live away from his parents. For the sake of the world, he stood with the Pandavas and guided them through the war. He did not seek personal pleasure; instead, he devoted his entire life to the global good.

Today, Bharatiyas receive respect wherever they go in the world. Bharat is now a powerful nation. We have acquired the capability to go to the lands of those who attacked us and teach them a lesson. He cited a poignant note by a Maharashtrian writer who, while visiting America, saw a play in which a character playing Nehru begged Kennedy, prompting the audience to laugh. That pathetic situation no longer exists. We must stand strong before the world. The people of Kashmir were once far ahead in wealth and intelligence, but they had to flee their birthplace, abandoning everything. This teaches us that being good alone is not sufficient; one must stand for society, he said.

He further said that our culture must never be abandoned at any stage. There should be a mindset of feeling shame toward bad actions. We must hold onto the virtues of life even in the face of extreme hardships. We have many examples before us of those who sacrificed their lives to protect Dharma. The security of Bharat Mata must be maintained, and one must save the nation when disaster strikes. He added that we also have the responsibility to lead the nation toward progress.

Reminding the students gathered at the leadership meet, he said the duty to lead this country rests on them. “In ten or fifteen years, you are the ones who must lead the nation. Virtue must be integrated into life. It is not enough to have a lamp in hand; one must walk toward the light. One must strive personally. There should be no fickleness. One must remain a good individual with a firm mind. This is a rigorous penance (Tapasya). Move forward without ego and without hatred toward others,” Dr Mohan Bhagwat said.
