Guwahati: Out of desperation, the Congress party went down to cheap politics of labelling corruption charges against Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma and his family using AI generated video as evidence. In a press meet held in Delhi, Congress leader charged Assam CM Sarma and his wife Riniki Bhuyan Sarma by claiming that they have invested several thousand crores in USA. Along with these charges the Congress leader accused CM Sarma’s wife of having three passports of three different counties.

Congress leader Pawan Khera showed some photographs of these passports which CM Sarma debunked as AI generated. In his X handle CM Sarma wrote, “Today’s press conference by Pawan Khera reflects the deep frustration and panic within the Congress party. As Assam moves decisively towards a historic mandate, such desperate and baseless attacks only expose their sinking ground”.

Denouncing the allegation labelled by Pawan Khera, CM Sarma said, I categorically reject every allegation made by him. These are malicious, fabricated and politically motivated lies aimed at misleading the people of Assam. He further said that he will file a criminal case against the Congress leader. “My wife and I will be filing both criminal and civil defamation cases within the next 48 hours against Pawan Khera. He will be held fully accountable for his reckless and defamatory statements”.

CM Sarma further said, I have complete faith in the judiciary. Once the truth is established in the court of law, Pawan Khera will face the consequences of his actions and the law will take its due course. Reiterating his faith in the people of Assam he said, The people of Assam will not be misled by such propaganda. We remain focused, determined and confident of securing a decisive mandate of more than 100 Seats.

Busting Congress’ propaganda and exposing their serious discrepancies CM Sarma said, The documents being circulated by the Congress leader show multiple glaring inconsistencies, suggesting a crude and poorly executed attempt at digital manipulation:

Surname mismatch:  “SARMA” is used instead of the official “SHARMA” in the documents shown by Khera. Moreover, the Photograph appears to be a publicly available image, not a standard biometric capture in the passports shown by the Congress party. Interestingly, UAE ID shown in the passports have many anomalies. ID sequence inconsistent with expected year-of-birth pattern and nationality mismatch — listed as Egypt, while MRZ reflects a different country code.

Antigua & Barbuda passport expiry date mismatch between printed field and MRZ. Similarly, Egyptian passport number mismatch between printed field and MRZ also there are spelling errors (“Egyptiann”) and incorrect Arabic reference. Title deed QR code appears invalid and does not resolve to any authentic record in the documents shown by Pawan Khera. CM Sarma said that these inconsistencies strongly indicate possible fabrication or digital manipulation.Truth will prevail. Those spreading misinformation will be held accountable. “I am confident that Pawan Khera’s campaign of falsehood is nearing its end. Eventually Mr Khera will go to jail”, CM Sarma added.
