In a deeply disturbing incident from Uttar Pradesh, two teachers at a madrassa in Saharanpur have been arrested after a viral video showed them allegedly assaulting a 10-year-old student with sticks, prompting widespread public outrage.

The incident reportedly took place at the Darul Uloom Zakaria Madrassa and came to light after the video surfaced online on Friday, sending shockwaves across social media platforms.

The viral clip captures harrowing visuals of the minor being subjected to physical abuse. The child can be seen pleading for mercy as one of the accused repeatedly strikes him with a stick, while the other holds him down.

In one particularly distressing moment, the second teacher lifts the child’s legs, enabling the first to hit the soles of his feet multiple times. The brutality of the act has drawn sharp condemnation from the public and child rights advocates.

According to police officials, the accused have been identified as Junaid (28) and Shoaib (30). Both have been taken into custody and booked under relevant legal provisions.

Ashok Sisodhiya confirmed that a case has been registered and strict action is being initiated against the accused.

Police said that the child fled the madrassa following the assault. Authorities are currently working to determine the exact date and sequence of events leading up to the incident.

The complaint was filed by Qari Sajid Hasan, a resident of Khanpur Gurjar village, who stated that several children from nearby villages attend the madrassa.

Investigators are also trying to identify the individual who recorded and circulated the video. Officials have indicated that anyone found complicit in the incident, directly or indirectly, will face strict legal action.

The case has once again raised serious concerns about child safety and oversight in informal educational institutions.
