Both LDF and UDF raise slogans of religious fundamentalists to spoil the future of Kerala, alleges BJP leader Suresh

BJP leader S. Suresh has launched a sharp attack on both the LDF and UDF, accusing them of promoting religious fundamentalist narratives and undermining Kerala’s future, while asserting that the NDA is poised to emerge as a decisive force in a likely hung Assembly.

BJP Keralam state general secretary Adv. S. Suresh alleged, on April 3, that both CPM-led Left Democratic Front (LDF) and Congress-led United Democratic Front (UDF) are raising the slogans of the religious fundamentalists and they are spoiling the future of the state. Suresh stated that they would lose their relevance after the imminent assembly elections. And, obviously NDA will turn a crucial force. NDA alone puts forward the slogan of development. Suresh added that tight triangular contests are taking place in more than half of the total number of the constituencies. S. Suresh was speaking to the media persons in Tiruvananthapuram.

The BJP leader Suresh alleged that LDF is trying to sabotage the election in Nemom constituency (where tough contest takes place between BJP president Rajeev Chandrasekhar and education and labour V. Sivankutty of CPM). Sivankutty tries to field a namesake against Rajeev Chandrasekhar. (Apparently the man was reportedly a CPM functionary). And, Sivankutty interfered in the appointments of polling officials.

Adv. Suresh alleged that government and the officials are blocking the water supply in Tiruvananthapuram city. It is a conspiracy. This sinister move is going on in 51 divisions (wards) in Tiruvananthapuram City where BJP candidates have won. Attempts are on to tarnish the image of the BJP. He demanded the proper action from the side of the Election Commission to provide drinking water for all. Election Commission of Bharat should interfere in the matter immediately. This is the most absurd and unfortunate issue. Sivankutty should withdraw from this. Election Commission should control the Water Authority in the wake of the elections.

Adv. Suresh stated that the state is all geared up to welcome the Prime Minister. Election campaign has reached its last leg. About 50,000 people are expected to participate in the Prime Minister’s programme in Tiruvilla on April 4. (BJP state general secretary Anoop Antony is a strong contender in Tiruvilla constituency). Thousands of people will participate in the Prime Minister’s road show in Tiruvananthapuram the same day. National leaders like Nirmala Sitaraman, Nitin Gadkari, Jitin Nabeen, Rajnath Singh and S. Jayashankar are visiting Keralam in the coming days.

Answering a question S. Suresh said that NDA has full confidence in winning the elections. The BJP will have a two digit number of MLAs. Kerala will witness a hung assembly with neither LDF nor UDF enjoying the majority. And, NDA will be a crucial force on the floor.
