The Madurai Bench of the Madras High Court has stopped the floating of tenders urgently before the election notification. It was meant to use Rs. 162.54 cr temple funds for 11 illegal works.
A temple activist, in a post on X, said: “Phenomenal good news from the Madurai Bench of the Madras High Court – The tenders floated ‘urgently’ before the election notification by the temple looting @tnhrcedept to utilise Rs. 162.54 crores of funds belonging to Sri Dhandayuthapani Temple, Pazhani, for 11 illegal civil works – STOPPED by orders of the Hon’ble Division Bench! Shri Vinoth Raghavendran – a rare @BJP4India functionary who actually and sincerely fights for temple welfare in courts – filed a writ petition before the Madurai Bench, which came up for hearing today, challenging the illegal tenders floated by the unscrupulous @tnhrcedept.
Ramesh said: “Suresh Palaniappan, learned counsel for the petitioner, pointed out the various lapses and violations in the tenders called for by the Executive Officer of Pazhani Devasthanam – a person functioning in the temple by a fraud on the statute. The Hon’ble Division Bench not only passed orders stopping all the tender works by ordering status quo – it also ordered an inspection of the tender matters by a retired Judge of the Madras High Court – Justice (Retd.) Shri Bharatidasan – and an inspection report to be submitted by 06th June. Great news for Hindu temple worshippers!”

Hindu Munnani condemned the death of a woman devotee, and two others were injured in the wee hours on March 29 when a part of the ceiling wall collapsed at the Samayapuram Arulmigu Mariamman temple hall. The deceased was identified as M. Nathiya, 32, from Thiruvaiyaru in Thanjavur district. Hindu Munnani said the temple underwent renovation only last year and that the incident shows how the quality of work was done by the DMK government. It blames the DMK government for the death of the woman devotee, saying the mandap was not maintained properly. The government says cement plaster coming off was the reason for the incident. Hindu Munnani sought cash compensation for the victim families, both killed and injured, and held a sit-in protest in front of the Joint Commissioner of HR and CE, and also met the RDO, Lalgudi DSP, and Joint Commissioner of HR and CE to press for their demands.

Hindu Munnani, in another post on X, questioned the CM and DMK president Stalin to state the number of temple kumbabhishekams he attended. Stalin claims, proudly, to conceal his Hindu aversion, that under his rule over 5,000 temples were consecrated. Hindu Munnani said they were done using public donations and temple funds, not a penny from the government side. Stalin and his colleagues, who never miss an opportunity to attend festivals and functions of Christians and Muslims, boycott Hindu temple functions, including consecrations. They never greet Hindus on their festivals, which is perceived as bias and phobia against the majority Hindus.
5000 கோயில்களுக்கு கும்பாபிஷேகம் செய்ததாக சொல்லும் முதல்வரே!!

In another post, Hindu Munnani condemned the DMK government for pushing temples into pitch darkness. It said an ancient Agasthesewarar temple in Aalathur in Chengalpet district has been without power due to non-payment of electricity dues. It says the DMK government, which takes crores of temple funds, did not use them for its upkeep, maintenance, electricity, decent salaries to temple staff, and conducting festivals, besides following agama rituals. The government’s action shows it could not even provide electricity to a village temple and reflects its aversion towards them. Devotees question whether public donations to temples are only to fill the government treasury. It cannot spend a small amount to light a lamp in temples.
Former IG of Police (Idol Wing), Pon Manickavel, alleges the Karunanidhi family amassed wealth in crores. Whose family wealth is it? Are they all looted from temples?
