Global streaming platform Netflix has launched Eyeline Studios, its global production and innovation studio, in Hyderabad, marking a significant investment in India’s growing Animation, Visual Effects, Gaming and Comics (AVGC) ecosystem.
The new facility, spread across approximately 32,000 square feet, is equipped with advanced visual effects and virtual production technologies supported by hybrid cloud infrastructure.
Designed to support high-end visual storytelling, the Hyderabad studio will function as part of Eyeline Studios’ global network with centres in Los Angeles, Vancouver, Seoul and London, strengthening India’s role in international production pipelines and next-generation visual production technologies.
The launch event was attended by Telangana Chief Minister Anumula Revanth Reddy, Secretary, Ministry of Information and Broadcasting Sanjay Jaju, Eyeline Studios CEO Jeff Shapiro, and actor-producer Rana Daggubati.
Speaking on the occasion, Revanth Reddy said Hyderabad has emerged as a vibrant centre where creativity, technology and global talent converge, adding that the new studio would further strengthen the Hyderabad’ position as a hub for the film, technology and AVGC sectors while creating opportunities for talent and storytelling from Hyderabad to the world.
Sanjay Jaju noted that India’s rich storytelling tradition combined with growing technological capabilities is driving the expansion of the entertainment sector. He also highlighted that the upcoming campus of the Indian Institute of Creative Technologies (IICT) in Hyderabad will strengthen skilling in creative technologies.
Referring to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s emphasis on the growth of the Orange Economy during last year’s WAVES initiative, Jaju said the government has announced 15,000 content creator labs across the country, expected to generate around two million jobs in the creative economy.
Telangana IT and Industries Minister D. Sridhar Babu said Hyderabad is well positioned to emerge as a leading global hub for storytelling and creative technology, while Eyeline Studios CEO Jeff Shapiro stated that India’s strong creative and technical talent has long supported the global visual effects industry, making Hyderabad an ideal location to build long-term capabilities.
