Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s visit to Singapore and Japan from February 22 to 26, 2026, is a focused diplomatic and economic outreach aimed at attracting investments into the State. This tour is concentrated on securing partnerships in data centres, logistics hubs, renewable energy, industrial infrastructure, manufacturing, mobility, technology, automobiles, semiconductors, electronics, green hydrogen, supply chain and other aspects.
Singapore: Financial and Skill Partnerships
On the first day of visit, the Chief Minister held high-level meetings in Singapore to secure financial and institutional backing for Uttar Pradesh’s infrastructure push. In a meeting with Teo Chee Hean, Chairman of Temasek, discussions centred on sovereign investment opportunities in data centres, logistics hubs, renewable energy and industrial infrastructure.
The Chief Minister highlighted the State’s supportive policy and fast-track clearances designed to facilitate global investors. He also met Lim Chow Kiat, Chief Executive Officer of GIC, where talks focused on long-term institutional investments in infrastructure, logistics, industrial parks and sustainable urban development. The Chief Minister appreciated GIC’s existing partnerships in Uttar Pradesh, including its association with IRB in the Ganga Expressway project and collaboration with Greenko in renewable energy initiatives within the state. Strengthening the financial cooperation, the Chief Minister engaged with Tan Su Shan, Chief Executive Officer of DBS Group. Discussions revolved around facilitating project financing and supporting investment flows into infrastructure and high-growth sectors in Uttar Pradesh.
In addition to financial engagements, the Chief Minister visited ITE Headquarters and ITE College Central. He held detailed discussions with ITE Education Services (ITEES) on collaboration in technical and vocational education and training, particularly in aviation, logistics, advanced manufacturing and data centre operations. The goal is to enhance workforce readiness in Uttar Pradesh through structured knowledge sharing. He informed the ITEES team about the State initiative to establish Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel Employment and Industrial Zones in every district, emphasising the need for strong skill development partnerships to support these emerging industrial clusters.
CM had a fruitful meeting with Prasoon Mukherjee, Chairman & Founder, Universal Success Enterprises Limited (USEL), along with his delegation in Singapore today. He witnessed the signing of MoUs in group housing, logistics and data centres in Uttar Pradesh. The projects include an integrated township, a logistics park and a hyperscale data centre park, generating substantial employment opportunities and strengthening the UP’s infrastructure ecosystem. At the same time also encouraged the Group to advance its hyperscale data centre operations in Uttar Pradesh and assured full support for expeditious implementation.
Strengthening the Japan Connect
The Japan visit is based on the momentum developed in December 2024, when the Chief Minister had signed several Memorandums of Understanding with Yamanashi Prefecture in Japan during the visit of Governor Kotaro Nagasaki to Lucknow. The agreements were on economic cooperation, specifically in the areas of manufacturing and technology collaboration and were in line with the increasing India-Japan partnership at the State level.
During the earlier engagement, the Chief Minister had begun his speech in Japanese, emphasising Uttar Pradesh’s commitment to furthering bilateral relationships and its desire to collaborate with Japanese businesses. The visit in February 2026 was thus a continuation of economic diplomacy efforts.
Arriving in Japan after concluding meetings in Singapore, the Chief Minister’s itinerary covered Yamanashi, Osaka and Kyoto. He is also scheduled to interact with Japanese officials and participate in a conference on the Japan–Uttar Pradesh Partnership for Manufacturing, Mobility and Technology.
The objective is to align Japanese technological expertise and industrial capacity with Uttar Pradesh’s expanding manufacturing ecosystem. An important element of the visit was the promotion of Brand UP through interactions with the Indian diaspora and students in Japan. This outreach was aligned with the broader vision of transforming Uttar Pradesh into a $1 trillion economy under the ‘Make in UP’ initiative.
A Comprehensive Investment Push
Accompanied by an 11-member delegation including Invest UP officials, the Chief Minister’s tour will showcase Uttar Pradesh’s industrial policies, land banks, expressway network, logistics infrastructure and skill development programmes.
The aim of this tour is to position the State as India’s premier manufacturing hub by integrating global capital, advanced technology, infrastructure expansion and skilled manpower. By combining financial outreach in Singapore with industrial and technological engagement in Japan, the visit will create a comprehensive investment ecosystem for Uttar Pradesh’s sustained economic growth.
