Notably, a similar incident was reported last week in Govindpuram, Ghaziabad, where a worker at a chicken outlet was allegedly caught spitting on rotis before serving them. This incident took place on January 19 under the jurisdiction of the Kavi Nagar police station.
Locals have identified the worker as Faizan and recorded the act on video before notifying the police. The outlet, situated near an ancient Shiva temple, prompted the temple priest, Acharya Shivakant Pandey, to file a written complaint, raising concerns about public health and the offense caused to religious sentiments.
The police have detained both the worker, Faizan, and the outlet operator, Amjad. ACP of Kavi Nagar, Suryabali Maurya, confirmed that an FIR has been registered under sections pertaining to the spread of infection, endangering public health, and promoting communal disharmony. Both individuals have been arrested and remanded to jail, with further investigation currently underway.
