ITANAGAR: Thousands of local Arunachalis took to the streets of Itanagar on December 27 in a massive rally demanding the removal of illegal Bangladeshi “Miya-Muslim” settlers and the cancellation of their Inner Line Permits (ILPs). Organised by the Indigenous Youth Force of Arunachal Pradesh (IYFA) and Arunachal Pradesh Indigenous Youth Organisation (APIYO), protesters chanted “Vande Mataram” and “Bharat Mata Ki Jai,” with leaders warning immigrants they have “no place” in the state and declaring that Arunachal Pradesh and the Northeast “can never be a part of Bangladesh.” The rally underscored growing local concerns over illegal settlements in the border state which is a major security concern for the nation.

IYFA leader Kamta Passand said, “It is in their dream to make Northeast a part of Bangladesh. Lots of leaders in Bangladesh are frequently saying this in public. We are proud citizens of Bharat Mata and if anybody tries to disrupt the integrity of our nation we are ready to answer them with full force and we have organised this rally to show our strength.”

He further said, we are the rightful owner of the land, air and water of mother Arunachal Pradesh. No illegal settlers have the rights to snatch our birthrights given by our constitution. APIYO leader Taro Sonam said, these people have entered Arunachal Pradesh with fake ids like Aaadhar card, fake ILP etc. We have removed over 200 such illegal settlers and the drives will continue. “We may be in the remotest corner of the nation but we are proud Indians and we will not allow any activity against India.”, he said. Thousands of locals including women took part in the massive rally against illegal Miya-Muslim settlers. The people demanded that the state government should now take appropriate actions to remove all intruders from the state.

Arunachal Pradesh Indigenous Youth Organisation (APIYO) leaders said that all heinous crimes including murder, robbery, rape, spy, love jihad are commited by the men of a particular religion, Islam. Huge numbers of suspected Bangladeshi Muslims and Muslims from other parts of the country including Jammu and Kashmir are coming and settling in Arunachal Pradesh. It is not possible to identify what these people are doing in the state as the number is huge. So the locals have to be very vigilant. The APIYO team has identified 12 illegal Mosques and Madrassa which were constructed without any approval. APIYO reiterated that the movement against the illegal intruders will continue for long until they are rooted out from the state.
