‘From Love Jihad to Land Loss’: CM Sarma calls Assam elections a battle to protect identity and land

Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma slams Congress appeasement politics. Leftist lies on Bir Lachit. Nation first for us, Dharma above all for them': Assam's future at risk from Bangladeshi infiltration, Leftist distortions threaten Sankar-Madhab legacy

GUWAHATI: Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma warned that the future of Assam and its people hangs in grave danger due to the Congress party’s misguided appeasement politics, which allowed a new civilisation to take root and swelled the population of Bangladeshi-origin Muslims to 1.5 crores. He predicted this group would comprise around 40 per cent of the state’s population in the upcoming census. While so-called secularists claim coexistence is possible, CM Sarma countered that Hindus embrace it—but the recent brutal murder of Deepu Chanda Das in Bangladesh proves their exclusivist mindset, rejecting all who do not believe in Allah. “For us, nation comes first; for them, Dharma supersedes everything,” the Chief Minister asserted.

CM Sarma added, “The brutal killing of Deepu Das by radicals filled us with dread over our fate in 20 years. Daily, at least one Hindu girl in middle and lower Assam falls victim to Love Jihad. During Eid in Dhubri, I witnessed beef openly sold and consumed. Hindu families routinely sell properties to Muslims and flee to towns or cities. We discuss the ‘Chicken Neck,’ yet it hosts no Hindu population—only Bangladeshi-origin Muslims, who would side with Bangladesh in any India-Bangladesh war.”

It is not that the Muslim population has grown only in the lower and middle Assam districts; it is also growing in the upper Assam districts. After a few years, 40 per cent of the population will send the maximum number of MLAs to Dispur, and they will make decisions which will impact every corner of the state. The Congress party thinks that Bangladeshi Muslims will vote for them. But they don’t understand the fact that the day they cross 50 per cent of Assam’s population, they will simply abandon Congress and flout their own party. “ Go and verify the identity of the shopkeepers under every flyover in Guwahati, ask the name of Ola-Uber drivers, check the identity of the stone pelters on police in every agitation, all these are Bangladeshi origin Muslims. Now we have two options: either surrender or fight back. Every day we are getting weaker, and if this continues, our identity will be erased very soon.”, CM added.

The Mughals did not defeat the Rajputs. In the war of civilisations, our own enemies have defeated us time and again. See the history, Indians were not defeated by outsiders but by the enemies within us.

“Now they are demanding 48 constituencies in Assam. Their intention is clear, they want Assam. But a section of us is trying to create a divide between us in the name of Assamese, Bengali, Hindi speaking, Tribals etc. The intention is to make us further weak by dividing us in the name of language, cast, creed etc. This is a huge conspiracy.”, CM Sarma warned. Those who are trying to create a rift between Assamese, Bengali, Bihari, Hindi-speaking, and Tribals never speak a single word against the illegal Bangladeshi Miya Muslims.

They are trying to weaken Assamese society from within. In the last 6 months, there have been many attempts to create unrest in Assam. They don’t want the BJP to repeat the government for the third time. In the absence of the BJP, the identity of the Assamese people will be erased within the next 2-3 decades. If we become weaker, we will have only two options: either to surrender or flee from Assam. BJP is the only warrior in this war of civilisation for the Assamese people, the CM said. CM Sarma also clarified, “Can you equate Guru Srimanta Sankardev with Azad Fakir? They didn’t have any similarity. Guru Sanjardev is the spiritual and cultural identity of Assam. He created the greater Assamese society—Assam has always been the land of Sankar-Madhab, with Guru Madhavdev as Sankardev’s prolific disciple, not this fabricated ‘Sankar-Azan’ narrative peddled by leftists to erode our civilisation.

Similarly, they invented a fictional Bhag Hazarika alias Ismail Siddique to diminish Bir Lachit Borphukan’s valor—there’s no such figure in Assam’s history—pushing the myth of harmonious coexistence. This forces Assamese people from Dhubri, Barpeta, Darrang, Mankachar, Nagaon, and Morigaon to vacate land. As Chief Minister, I clearly say: This is Sankar-Madhab’s land, not Sankar-Azan. Bir Lachit crushed the Mughals alone at Saraighat, with no Bhag Hazarika guiding him. These distortions weaken our fight to protect our civilisation, and I will not tolerate them. If BJP wavers, no path remains for Assamese people—the elections of 2026, 2031, 2036, and 2041 will be battles for our very existence.”
