NEW DELHI: The 359th Prakash Parv of Guru Govind Singh Ji Maharaj is being celebrated with great devotion in Takht Sri Harmandir Ji Patna Sahib Gurudwara of Bihar.

The three-day festivities marking the birth anniversary of Guru Govind Singh Ji Maharaj began with a ‘Badi Prabhat Pheri’ on Thursday, December 25. As the colourful Pheri passed through different localities of the city, devotees lined up to pay their respects and sing religious hymns.

The celebrations continued on Friday with Nagar Kirtans, along with a grand procession led by ‘Panj Pyares’ which traversed through the city streets before culminating at Takht Sri Harmandir Sahib as chants of ‘Jo Bole So Nihal Sat Sri Akal’ resonated in the air.

Earlier in the day, Prime Minister Narendra Modi also paid his tributes to the 10th Sikh Guru. The PM also shared photos from his visit to Takht Sri Harmandir Ji Patna Sahib.

“On the sacred Prakash Utsav of Sri Govind Singh Ji, we bow in reverence to him. He remains an embodiment of courage, compassion and sacrifice. His life and teaching inspire us to stand for truth, justice righteousness and to protect human dignity. Sri Guru Govind Singh Ji’s vision continues to guide generations towards service and selfless duty,” wrote PM Modi in a post on X.

Meanwhile, the district administration is making every effort to facilitate devotees visiting Takht Sri Harmandir Ji Patna Sahib during the sacred Utsav, which concludes on Saturday.

Earlier on Friday, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar also visited the site and reviewed the arrangements for the Prakash Parv celebrations. The CM instructed the officials to pay special attention to security and other facilities for the devotees arriving on the occasion.

The CM also visited the Prakash Punj at Patna Sahib and inspected the facilities of the tent city built for devotees at Kangan Ghat. Sharing the details, CM Nitish Kumar in a post said that “Its a matter of great pride for Bihar residents that Guru Govind Singh Ji Maharaj was born here.” The CM also inspected the Watch Tower being constructed in front of the Prakash Punj.
