Bangladesh: “Yunus govt is safe haven to terrorists while economy, security is at risk,” says Former MP Bahauddin Nasim

Former Bangladesh MP and Joint General Secretary of Awami League Bahauddin Nasim has sharply criticized the interim government under Muhammad Yunus for rendering safe-haven to the terrorists and criminals. He also asserted that the Yunus regime is flaring communal hatred at the cost of economic growth as the industries are shut, exports are under trouble and GDP is slumping

DHAKA: Bangladesh, under the interim government led by its Chief Advisor Muhammad Yunus, is apparently a safe haven to the terrorists and criminals. It has been revolutionised as a secure zone for terror activities and other illicit radical religious motives. The interim government is deliberately fanning communal hatred and rifts in the society at the cost of economic growth and development of the country, said Former MP of Bangladesh and joint General Secretary of Awami League, Bahauddin Nasim. Speaking to the ANI News Agency, the Awami League leader sharply criticised the interim government and exposed its atrocities in nurturing terrorists and criminals. He also debunked the spiking nexus of Bangladesh with Pakistan as it is not in favour of the development and security of the country.

The elected government was forcefully hijacked

The Awami League leader, Bahauddin Nasim, said that the elected Awami League government was forcefully hijacked. It was a deliberately engineered attack on the elected government of Sheikh Hasina by the miscreants to dismantle the regime. Thus, a communally fuelled interim government was established in place of a secular and progressive rule. “After 5th August last year, the current government hijacked the elected government. The government, which was led by Sheikh Mujibur Rahman’s daughter, Sheikh Hasina, is a visionary leader. During her tenure, massive development took place in Bangladesh”, said Bahauddin Nasim.

However, under the interim government, anti-national people, traitors and fascists are destroying the country. “Their motive was to murder Sheikh Hasina. That’s why they attacked and looted Ganabhaban”, the Awami League leader further added.

Bangladesh underthe  interim regime is safe haven to terrorists

Bahauddin Nasim also exclaimed that under the interim government led by its Chief Advisor Muhammad Yunus, Bangladesh is emerging as a safe haven for the terrorists and other criminal forces who are apparently a threat to the security and growth of the country. He asserted that in August 2024, the Sheikh Hasina regime was indeed ousted with the help of various terrorist organisations, including the ISI of Pakistan. The evidence for this nexus between anti-national forces of Bangladesh and Pakistan, or their terror organisations, is that the flag of ISI was flying in Bangladesh.

“Many terrorist organisations like Hizb ut-Tahrir, Jamat and ISI helped them to loot and tried to murder Sheikh Hasina. We also saw that the ISI flag was seen in Bangladesh. Earlier, any communal disrespect was not shown in the Bangladesh constitution. It’s everyone’s constitution. For every caste, religion, people are for the development of the country. Globally, the acceptance of Bangladesh was in a good position during Sheikh Hasina’s term”, Bahauddin Nasim reiterated, as the communal hatred is fuelling at a drastic scale in Bangladesh under the Yunus regime.

“This government is giving security to these goons, criminals. The government said no case will be registered against the criminals who are fueling communal hatred. They are threatening the judges and advocates. The Muhammad Yunus government is giving security to terrorists”, said Bahauddin Nasim.

The fascist people have murdered the idea of Mukti Juddha and Joy Bangla

The Awami League leader, Bahauddin Nasim, further asserted that under the interim government, the ideas of Mukti Juddha (Liberation of Bangladesh) and Joy Bangla (Hail Bangla) have no respect or meaning in the country. These have been converted into dead ideas or concepts in Bangladesh as there is widespread communal hatred, security lapses and economic crisis. The Mukti Juddha has been destroyed by hatred, murder, harassment and other threats. The stable and progressive Bangladesh is vandalised by the anti-Bangladeshi elements who disrespect the very founding principle of Bangladesh, which is Mukti Juddha and Joy Bangla, expressed Bahauddin Nasim.

“Currently, the anti-Bangladesh goons don’t allow people to say Joy Bangla in Bangladesh. They banned the Joy Bangla slogan. They banned the historic speech of Bangabandhu. The speech, which was given by a global figure, is banned by these fascist people. There is no position for cultural, intellectual people in Bangladesh. Awami League supporters are murdered. They are also torturing, murdering, lynching the common people, women and the minority people including the Hindus in Bangladesh”, said the Awami League leader.

“Law and order have been totally destroyed in Bangladesh. They were not allowed to register any complaint against those criminals. They vandalised the Chhayanaut institution. It’s our cultural organisation, it’s our pride, but they vandalised and burnt these types of cultural organisations. They attacked the press, news houses in Bangladesh and tried to murder journalists”, thus Bahauddin Nasim expressed his grief over the unfortunate and anti-national developments in Bangladesh which is threatening the cultural identity, pride of the country.

Dipu Das was a common man with no political affiliation

Bahauddin Nasim also criticised the radical Islamist groups for attacking and killing Dipu Chandra Das, a Hindu minority youth, without any evidence of blasphemy. He said that Dipu Das was a common man and had no political affiliations. He was murdered purely on a religious and ideological basis. Bahauddin Nasim also criticised the nature in which Bangladesh was turning into a one-religion-based, communal country. He said minorities are mercilessly targete,d and the temples are being destroyed illogically just to satisfy the radical or communal motives.

“They are trying to convert this country into a one-religion-based country. If we raise our voice, they are attacking, vandalising temples and mazars. Not only did these goons murder Dipu Das, but they also murdered many people like him who belong to the minority. The common people of Bangladesh are in fear. There is no guarantee of a normal death in Bangladesh. Any time death happens in Bangladesh”, said Bahauddin Nasim.

Crisis hit economy with shut factories and crumbling exports

Bahauddin Nasim also took a sharp jibe at the interim government of Bangladesh as the economy is completely crisis-ridden. As the Yunus regime is busy nurturing the anti-national elements, communal conflicts and other Islamist radicals, on the other hand, Bangladesh is suffering from a deep economic crisis. The factories are shut, there is no scope for export and import, common people are losing jobs and the GDP growth rate is declining. “They forcefully hijacked the elected government. During the Hasina government, the GDP exceeded 8. Now, there is no import or export. Factories are closing. They totally destroyed Bangladesh by spreading hate and communal hatred among the common people”, asserted Bahauddin Nasim.

Under the Sheikh Hasina regime Bangladesh was one of the fastest growing and strongly emerging economies of the Asian continent.

Nexus with Pakistan is not ideal for the security and growth of Bangladesh

The Awami League leader Bahauddin Nasim also took a sharp jibe at the growing nexus between Bangladesh and Pakistan and said that this relationship was not entertained in the 54 years history of Bangladesh. The Yunus government is giving security and safe-haven to terrorists. “Bangladesh is not Bangladesh now. We noticed that the current government has a good relationship with Pakistan. Day by day, it’s improving more and more. We saw that directly from Karachi to Dhaka, a business deal is going on. These types of deals with Pakistan we have never seen in the last 54 years”, said Bahauddin Nasim.

“ISI agents, higher officials coming to Bangladesh, they stay, operating from Bangladesh. Currently, the Pakistani PM is giving full support to the Bangladesh government. We strongly condemn those who are taking help from Pakistan and terrorist organisations. Currently, the Yunus government is giving shelter to this terrorist organisation. How these looters and criminals are staying in Bangladesh peacefully, we strongly condemn this”, exclaimed the Awami League leader.

Under the interim government, the very founding principles and socio-political fabric of Bangladesh are thus vandalised, which is currently earmarked with communal hatred, fuelling radical Islamist ideologies and actions, murders, political violence and a deep economic crisis.
