Patna: In a stern message to mafias and land encroachers, Bihar deputy Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary on December 15, Monday said that the government will take strict action against people involved in encroaching of government’s land.

The deputy CM who also oversee state’s Home Department added that eviction drive will continue in Bihar and his only objective is to establish Chief Minister Nitish Kumar’s ‘Susashan’ (good governance) model in the state.

Addressing a public meeting in Bihar’s Gayaji district Choudhary said “You must have seen that roads are being cleared in the state. This Safai Abhiyan (cleanliness drive) will continue across the state.”

“I have only one work, which is fully establish Nitish Kumar’s good governance model in Bihar, added Choudhary.

The deputy CM promises strict action against mafias involved in encroaching government’s land, appealing the people to report any such encroachment.

“If you feel that any mafia or criminal has encroached on government land, file a complaint and we will demolish their property,” said Choudhary. He noted that Bihar is changing and work has been done on many fronts. He also reiterated the state government’s commitment to setup medical colleges in each district within the next three year.

The deputy CM’s remark has arrived on the heels of a major anti-encroachment drive carried out by the state government across multiple districts of the state.

Speaking in the state assembly recently, the deputy CM had stressed that there is no place for crime in Bihar. “Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has established good governance model in the state and no one whether he is liquor, sand or land mafia will be spared.”

He emphasised that the anti-encroachment drive in the state is being carried out as per the instruction of judiciary and will continue. “The court has decided it and instructed the district administration upon which action is being taken against encroachment at all places,” he added.
