As per report, arrested Monsur Alin was working in Kerala for the last several years. During his stay in Kerala, Monsur came close to Islamist terrorist group members and started working for the Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan. He was instructed to create a base in Assam for the Pak based terror group. After his involvement with the banned Islamist terrorist groups Monsur shifted his base from Kerala to Tamilnadu. He spent some time in Tamilnadu and recently returned to his native place Kharupetia in Darrand district of Assam. Based on intelligence input, Assam police were tracking his movements. Terrorist Monsur was actively spreading Jihadi activities through social media back in Assam. He was trying to intoxicated local Muslim youths into his terror network through social media. Police also informed that arrested Monsur was planning several attacks in different parts of Assam. To execute the plan of attacks, arrested Monsur was planning to visit Myanmar for an advance bomb making training in a Rohingya Salvation Army training camp. But before he could leave for Myanmar, he was arrested on November 25 in an operation conducted by Assam police. Police have registered a case under section 39(2) of the UA(P) Act and several sections of BNS in the Kharupetia police station. He was produced in the local court and taken into police custody for further investigation of the terror module.

It should be mentioned that Assam police STF in December last year in a multistate operation arrested 8 Islamist terrorists linked with banned terror outfit Ansarullah Bangla Team (ABT) and Al Qaeda in Indian Subcontinent (AQIS). Wanted terrorist Md Sad Radi alias Md Shab Sheikh, a Bangladeshi national, was also arrested in Kerala in the operation. Two other terrorists were arrested from West Bengal and 5 were arrested from Assam. All the arrested terrorists had a Kerala link and were planning to set up a sleeper cell across the country.
