BENGALURU: RSS Sarsanghchalak Dr. Mohan Bhagwat Ji visited and addressed at the 7th edition of India Manufacturing Show – IMS2025 organised by Laghu Udyog Bharati Karnataka in association with IMS Foundation at Bengaluru International Exhibition Centre (BIEC), Bengaluru.

Speaking on the occasion, he said Global economic ups and downs often have only a limited impact on Bharat, and at times, unexpected challenges like tariffs end up shielding the Bharat’s economy and that’s its strength. Over the past 5-10 years, MSME sector has steadily grown and is gradually becoming more competitive in the global arena. To truly realise the vision of Atmanirbhar Bharat on the ground, the MSME sector plays a crucial role.

In the prevailing global system of economy, if we continue to follow the same model, it naturally leads to the concentration of wealth and production. When such concentration takes place, employment opportunities decrease, people become dependent on others, and the environment also comes under threat. The same happens in large-scale or mass production, it often brings such consequences. However, small-scale industries, medium enterprises, and micro-industries operate differently. Their form of production helps masses generating local employment, keeps the environment protected, and allows individuals to live with greater self-reliance and dignity. That is why this sector is extremely important.

Our focus has been moving strongly in that direction. Progress is being made everywhere. Though the pace and the environment may not yet be exactly as we would like, it is certainly moving steadily in the right direction. To stay ahead in global trade competition, to enhance the excellence of our products, and to ensure that Bharat always leads in global competitiveness – these are the goals we are working toward, and our growing awareness in this regard is indeed a positive sign.

Laghu Udyog Bharati aims to build cooperation among entrepreneurs so that large and small industries grow together. Though a challenge, it envisions a balanced industrial structure where big industries support smaller ones and vice versa. However, global economies often run on excessive profit-driven motives which has led to many economic and social challenges worldwide.

To correct this, the mindset itself must change. One of the founding purposes of Laghu Udyog Bharati was to cultivate cooperation among entrepreneurs, for them to work in harmony with one another, within the country and with all. Together, we must chart a better economic path for human progress.

When individuals or nations depend on others for livelihood, their independence weakens. Humanity values both liberty and equality, yet if there is liberty, equality seems to vanish, and if there is equality, liberty often disappears. The balance between the two is possible only through a spirit of brotherhood, that extends beyond personal life to industry and commerce, where harmony and moral duty ensure shared prosperity without loss to anyone.

Bharat has long followed this approach, it is on record in William Thornton’s writings that agriculture, industry, and trade once worked in harmony, creating a prosperous and balanced society. Today, we must revive that model and show the world that a system built on cooperation, ethics, and inclusiveness can truly thrive. We are progressing and need to lead the world by example. Guided by righteousness, human values, and moral responsibility rather than competition, history shows that Bharat’s path has always been the right one.

In our tradition, Business sustains livelihood, but its essence lies in duty and service. Even business is guided by dharma. We believe that for society to progress, individuals must take responsibility for the collective good. From the person to the family, from the family to the community, from the community to the state, from the state to the nation, and from the nation to the entire world. Humanity and creation are interconnected – this is the Bharatiya worldview.

We must think broadly, start small but aim big, and this expanding mindset fills me with joy. Everywhere, I see growing confidence, even those without formal training are running enterprises with competence and faith. This self-belief will help Bharat stand tall before the world.

Our success is the nation’s success, and a prosperous Bharat strengthens the world. With responsibility comes divine strength, which I see manifesting here today. Let this progress continue, guided by foresight, toward a peaceful, prosperous, and harmonious world.

RSS Sahsarkaryavah Mukunda CR, Dr. Krishna Gopal, Akhil Bharatiya Vyavastha Pramukh Mangesh Bhende, and others were present.
