Guwahati: My fight against Miya-Muslims will continue till I remain as the chief minister of Assam, says CM Himanta Biswa Sarma. Speaking to reporters on the sideline of a program in Morigaon, CM said that the eviction drives against illegal encroachment by Bangladeshi origin Muslims will continue in the state. CM Sarma further asserted, “The fight against Miya-Muslims will continue till I remain the CM of Assam. No compromise in any condition”.

He further said that due to the untimely death of beloved singer Zubeen Garg and dirty politics followed by the sad incident by the oppositions can’t save the Miya from evictions. “We will give justice to Zubeen Garg, and simultaneously the actions against the illegal Bangladeshi origin settlers and intruders will continue”.

It should be mentioned that the Assam government has served eviction notices to thousands of Miya-Muslim families in different districts of the state residing illegally in forest and government land. On October 30, district administration evicted 29 families residing in 44 bighas of government land for several years. Earlier CM Sarma said that the fight against the aggression of Miya-Muslims needs to continue till next 30 years and then only the Assamese people will be secured in the state.

He said, in the next census, Miya-Muslims will be the biggest community in Assam. Alarming the indigenous people Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma said,”Mark my words, by the next census Miya-Muslims will be 38 per cent of the total population of the state. Anyone can do the projection from the previous census data and their population growth rate”.

He further said this is a hard reality of Assam. So it is our goal to safeguard our people from the aggression of Miya-Muslims. In the last five years the BJP led state government has worked on it. “If we would have worked on it in the last 30 years as we did in the last 5 years, we wouldn’t have faced this crisis. But the battle has started in the last five years and we need to take it to the desired result”, CM Sarma added.

He also said that because of the initiatives of the BJP government the situation is much better now but the fight will continue in the coming 10 years. “We need to keep the Miya-Muslims under pressure as we are keeping them now. The situation will be under control at one point if we can put them under pressure, otherwise it will be beyond our control”, CM Sarma opined.
