A political controversy has erupted in Assam's border district of Sri Bhumi after a local Congress leader was captured on camera singing the Bangladesh national anthem during a party meeting. The video clip has swiftly gone viral, sparking intense outrage among citizens and providing potent ammunition for the opposition

Congress leader in assam sings national anthem of Bangladesh

Guwahati: Why Bangladesh interim government has been trying to include Northeast India in the imaginary map of Greater Bangladesh, Congress party in Assam is busy singing Bangladesh national anthem.

The appeasement politics of Congress party, their vote bank politics and their secret love for Pakistan and Bangladesh is known to everyone, but the open and public display of the secret makes people confused on the nationality of the grand old party. Such an interesting incident took place in Sri Bhumi district of Assam on Monday.

The Sri Bhumi district committee of Congress party organised a party meeting in Indira Bhavan on October 27. Sribhumi is a border district with Bangladesh. Amid the party meeting one leader started singing the national anthem of Bangladesh. The meeting was attended by local reporters and the entire episode was captured on camera. The video clip immediately went viral on social media. People reacted sharply to the blunder made by Congress. Citizens asked, whether it was just a stupidity or intentional, Congress should clarify.

State BJP questioned, where it is a mere coincidence or Congress is trying to appease Bangladesh origin Muslim vote bank in Assam ahead of the 2026 assembly election. State BJP said Bangladesh government intends to include Northeast in their imaginary map and Congress leaders sing Bangladeshi anthems, it is an issue which needs to be answered by the grand old party. No official clarification has been given by the Assam congress on the matter. But the issue has raised another political debate in the state.
