Ghaziabad: President Droupadi Murmu on October 26 inaugurated the Yashoda Medicity Hospital in Ghaziabad, lauding the institution for aligning with national health priorities and taking the lead in tuberculosis elimination and sickle cell anaemia initiatives.

Speaking at the event, the President said, “Yashoda Hospital has adopted national priorities with full devotion… This hospital has been established as the first centre in North India under the System for TB Elimination in the Private Sector (STEPS)… I would like this institution to contribute as much as possible to the national initiatives related to sickle cell anaemia… The leadership of this institution prioritises the ideals of social service and national service…”

She further added, “I hope that this medical institution will make effective efforts to improve local and national health services with a spirit of Swadeshi and a special emphasis on medical research… Many underprivileged people live in the country, and they also contribute to the country’s development… they should also receive support in every field…”

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh who attended the inauguration of Yashoda Medicity Hospital said, “…It is a matter of great pride for Yashoda Medicity that it has been recognised as the Robotic Surgery Training Centre for South Asia…When Dr PN Arora saw his mother battling cancer, he realised that medicine is a mixture of sympathy, compassion and dedication. Earlier, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath commended the establishment of Yashoda Medicity Hospital in Indirapuram as a significant step toward providing world-class healthcare services to residents of the National Capital Region (NCR).

He remarked that advanced medical facilities, which were previously accessible only in Delhi, are now available “under one roof” for the working population.

Speaking at the inauguration of the multispecialty hospital, attended by President Droupadi Murmu, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh and others, CM Adityanath said, “Under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi ji, India has taken remarkable strides in the field of healthcare. If I speak specifically about Uttar Pradesh, in the last eight and a half years, we have established 42 new medical colleges. Two of our flagship initiatives–the AIIMS in Gorakhpur and the AIIMS in Raebareli–are now fully operational and successful.”

He further said, “This is not mere dedication of hospital, it is a creation of world-class healthcare facility, and successful project under Invest-UP. Investment and employment both objectives are considered while giving a world-class healthcare facility.”

“All these new multispecialty institutions in Uttar Pradesh are ensuring that more than 25 crore people across the state can access the best healthcare facilities right at their doorstep. And today, in that very direction, we are not only serving the people of Uttar Pradesh but also providing world-class medical care to those who earlier had to travel to Delhi for expensive treatment. Now, in Ghaziabad, these advanced facilities are available to the working class and common people–all under one roof through the establishment of Yashoda Medicity hospital,” he added.
