New Delhi: A political row has erupted over the remarks made by Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) MLC, Qari Shoaib at an election rally in Khagaria district of poll-bound Bihar on October 25.

The RJD leader who was campaigning for the Mahagathbandhan candidate on Saturday sparked a controversy by stating that all bills including the Waqf bill will be torn apart and thrown if Tejashwi Yadav becomes the Chief Minister.

While making an appeal to vote for the Mahagathbandhan candidate, the RJD leader said that I want to appeal to people from all sections of the society, forget everything and do not fall prey to anyone who is misleading or whatever the BJP IT cell is spreading.

In a viral video of the event, doing rounds on social media, the MLC could be heard targeting those who supported the Waqf bill. Those who supported the Waqf bill needs to be treated, he said.

He further mentioned that parties like Janata Dal United (JDU)and Lok Jan Shakti Party (LJP-R) are rivals and people should vote for RJD to save Bihar and the country.

The statement made by the RJD leader stirred a major controversy, drawing sharp criticism from the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leaders who have alleged that the statement reflects the sign and symptoms of Jungle Raj.

Launching an attack, BJP national spokesperson Shehzad Poonawala in a post on X said that “RJD leader using official RJD platform to threaten and tear apart laws made by parliament and upheld by SC. This is want they want Jungle Raj+ Shariah Raj not Kanoon Aur Samvidhan ka Raj.”

Union Minister Kiren Rijiju also reacted sharply to the remarks made by the RJD leader. Taking on X the Union Minister said this shows the symptoms of Jungle Raj.

“Who needs to be treated, this is the symptom of Jungle Raj which need to be crushed,” said Rijiju.

The Union Minister further accused the RJD and Congress for insulting democracy, stating that the people of Bihar will teach them a lesson.

Bihar will face elections on November 6 and 11 with results scheduled to be announce on November 14.

The contest on 243 seats of the state assembly is likely to be fought primarily between the ruling BJP-JDU led NDA and the Mahagathbandhan led by the RJD and Congress party.

Other than the two alliances, Prashant Kishor led Jan Suraaj, Tej Pratap Yadav led Jan Shakti Janata Dal, Pashupati Paras led RLJP and AIMIM led by Asaaduddin Owaisi are also in the fray.
